Import Status

After importing a file, you can check the import status by selecting the Update Status button.

The Import results table is displayed with the Status column and the Refresh Status buttons highlighted.

The following four statuses are possible:

  • In Process: The import task is currently being processed by the system and has not yet completed.
  • Error: A fatal error during the import caused the system to be unable to process the import task. These errors are likely due to incorrect file formatting or a cluster of unacceptable values.
  • Completed(!): The system was able to upload the majority of data and complete the import task; however, there may be errors or things that were skipped, and there was a problem with the import.Data import for region page is open with the Completed (!) link highlighted.
  • Completed: The import task was fully successful.

To view detailed status information, choose the link in the Status column:

  • The Details tab shows detailed status information, including the number of records created, updated, and deleted. The Details tab of an import for regions is displayed with the status and record count information highlighted.
  • The History tab shows information about past data imports.
  • The Error Details tab shows information on the problem.
    • If there were no errors, no Error Details tab is visible.
    • The Item ID column specifies the problematic file, column, and data value.
    • The Line Number specifies which row the problematic data value resides in.
    • The Error Message states the issue.
    • The Common Data Import and Administration guide provides information on checking these errors.
The Error Details tab of the Import Region Codes page is displayed.

Summary

  • Imports that have Error for their status mean that a fatal error occurred and the system did not load any data from the file.
  • Imports that have Completed(!) will contain an Error Details tab and the Error Items table will list the error message and which line in the file.
