Configuring SRVMAPKEY for Service Request for Quotation

Overview of Service Map Key (SRVMAPKEY)

The Service Map Key (SRVMAPKEY) is used in the Managed Gateway Add-On to map service data between the SAP system and the SAP Business Network. It identifies and maps service lines from RFQs to the expected structure in the SAP Business Network and SAP Ariba Strategic Sourcing.

Configure this setting only if your service RFQ transfer from the SAP system to the SAP Business Network fails. This usually happens when the business function LOG_MM_P2PSE_1 is not active on your SAP system.

Functionality and Business Functions

The Service Map Key identifies service line numbers. The standard field SRVMAPKEY in the SAP Table ESSL stores service RFQ Item ID information. Customers need to enable the Business Function LOG_MM_P2PSE_1 to generate SRVMAPKEY.

If the business function is not enabled, your SAP system won’t activate the standard field SRVMAPKEY. In that case, implement SAP Note 2372821 and set the ARIBA_SRVMAPKEY parameter to "True". If the business function is activated, the SAP Note and maintaining the parameter are not needed.

Note

SAP Note 2372821 is a Pilot Note and has not been released to all customers. If customers want to apply the note, they need to create an incident/SR with SAP Support.

The SAP Note and the maintained parameter help utilize the SRVMAPKEY functionality without activating the business function. If the SRVMAPKEY is not available, the Item ID does not correctly populate the service line numbers.

Summary

The Service Map Key (SRVMAPKEY) maps service RFQ line items between SAP ERP and the SAP Business Network. The ESSL table stores the RFQ Item ID in the SRVMAPKEY field. SRVMAPKEY is generated when the business function LOG_MM_P2PSE_1 is active. If this function is not active and the service RFQ transfer fails, implement SAP Note 2372821 and set the ARIBA_SRVMAPKEY parameter to True to use SRVMAPKEY functionality without activating the business function. Without SRVMAPKEY, service line numbers do not populate correctly.
