Maintaining Parameters for Request for Quotation

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to maintain the required parameters for the Request for Quotation transaction in the SAP System.

Maintaining Parameters for Request for Quotation

Configuration of RFQ Parameters

SAP Ariba Strategic Sourcing integration via Managed Gateway for Spend&Network unifies sourcing and procurement ecosystems, enabling faster sourcing decisions, stronger supplier engagement, and smarter business outcomes with less effort and greater control. Maintaining parameters in the Managed Gateway-AddOn is crucial. These parameters control data flow, transformation, and synchronization between SAP and Ariba systems, ensuring the accurate exchange of sourcing documents like RFQs, Awards, and Contracts. Parameters shape the behavior, structure, and content of these documents during integration.

In the Managed Gateway Add-On, parameters define how RFQs are selected, processed, filtered, and transmitted from SAP ERP or S/4HANA to SAP Ariba Strategic Sourcing. These parameters allow you to tailor RFQ integration behavior without custom development.

Parameters define system behavior for Sourcing-related integration scenarios and ensure correct data mapping between SAP objects and Ariba cXML messages. They control RFQ transmission, ensure seamless automation of sourcing-to-procurement processes, and maintain data consistency between SAP and Ariba systems.

Maintain parameters based on your requirements. Most parameters are optional and should be maintained as required. However, the RFQ_ENABLED parameter becomes mandatory when you enable integration using the Managed Gateway.

Steps to Maintain Parameters

Follow these steps to maintain the parameters for the Request for Quotation in the Managed Gateway AddOn SPRO:

  1. Using the transaction code SPRO, navigate to Integration with Other SAP Components>Managed Gateway for Spend&Network for Buyer>SAP Ariba Strategic Sourcing Suite Integration>Application Specific Settings>Request for Quotation (RFQ). The SPRO menu path for Request for Quotation settings.
  2. Expand the Request for Quotation (RFQ) section and select IMG-Activity for Maintain parameters for Request for Quotation. Maintain parameters for Request for Quotation selection.
  3. On the Parameters – Request for Quotation screen, select the Modify button. The Modify button.
  4. On the Parameters – Request for Quotation screen, maintain the parameters based on your business requirements.
  5. Once all the necessary entries are maintained, choose the Save button. The save button to commit parameter changes.

For guidance, refer to the table provided in this lesson.

Summary

The Managed Gateway for Spend&Network enables integrated RFQ handling between SAP and Ariba. Key parameters control how RFQs are selected, processed, and transmitted, and how notes and mappings are exchanged. RFQ_ENABLED must be set when enabling the integration; other parameters are optional but commonly configured to tailor behavior, data flow, and content. Use SPRO paths to view and modify RFQ parameters and ensure proper mapping between SAP objects and Ariba cXML messages for accurate and automated RFQ processing.
