The Service Map Key (SRVMAPKEY) is used in the Managed Gateway Add-On primarily for mapping service-related data between the SAP system and the SAP Business Network. It helps identify and map service lines from a Purchase Order or Service Entry Sheet (SES) to the expected structure in the SAP Business Network.
You only need to configure this setting if your service purchase order transfer from the SAP system to the SAP Business Network fails, which usually occurs when the business function LOG_MM_P2PSE_1 is not active on your SAP ERP system. The Service Map Key is required to identify the service line numbers. The standard field SRVMAPKEY in the SAP Table ESLL stores service purchase order Item ID information. Customers need to enable the Business Function LOG_MM_P2PSE_1 to generate the SRVMAPKEY.
If the business function is not enabled, the standard field SRVMAPKEY is not activated in your SAP system. In that case, you should implement the SAP Note 2372821 and set the ARIBA_SRVMAPKEY parameter to True. If the Business Function is activated in your system, the SAP Note is not necessary. The SAP Note, along with the maintained parameter, helps utilize the SRVMAPKEY functionality without activating the Business Function. If the SRVMAPKEY is not available, the Item ID does not correctly populate the line numbers for the service lines.
