Changing Data Displays

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to change data displays.

Dimension/Attribute Member Displays

You can change how members (values) of dimensions and attributes are displayed in the crosstab: text only, key, or a combination of the two. Select the column header containing the dimension/attribute name and choose the desired option from the Members menu option in the Analysis ribbon.

Measure Displays

You can specify the number format for each measure in your analysis, including the scaling factor, decimals used (Number Format . . .), currency conversion, and how zero and negative values are displayed (General Format . . .). Select the column header containing the measure name and choose the desired option from the Measures menu option in the Analysis ribbon.

Totals Displays

You can define whether totals are displayed in the crosstab, and if they are displayed, you can decide where they are displayed. You can also define how the totals can be calculated. Select the column header containing the measure name and choose the desired option from the Totals menu option in the Analysis ribbon.

By default, totals are usually summed. However, you can change the totals calculation if that is helpful to your analysis. Select the column header containing the measure name and choose the desired option from the TotalsCalculate Totals As menu option in the Analysis ribbon.

Change Data Displays
