Create a Connection

In this short exercise, we will create a connection from SAP Analytics Cloud to connect to the Analytical Dataset we created in our first exercise.

  1. Lobby and then in the main navigation panel, click on Connections.

Note: SAP Datasphere offers a public OData API (details https://api.sap.com/api/ODataAPI/overview) to support the replication of models to SAP Analytics Cloud.

Let us now add a connection and select the OData connection type.

  1. Click on the + icon and select OData Services.

  2. Depending on the geography of your SAP Analytics Cloud URL: EU10 or US10 or AP11, enter the relevant settings to define your OData Service Connection in SAC.

EU10

If your SAP Analytics Cloud URL includes EU10 (e.g. https://basic-trial-sac.cfapps.eu10.hana.ondemand.com) enter these details:

  • Connection Name: DATASPHERE_SAC_PLANNING_<your_user_id>
    • Data Service URL (Data Source): https://academydatasphere.eu10.hcs.cloud.sap/api/v1/dwc/consumption/analytical/<your_user_id>/Analytic_Model_<your_user_id>
  • Authentication Type: OAuth 2.0 Authorization Code
  • OAuth Client ID: sb-c2a0459f-f019-4d61-89ba-0811e35f25ba!b193354|client!b3650
  • Secret: e6f59abf-1baf-4d18-a745-ff868d9d66c7$apQOloMqBdry4e_auxMx3k3Gy0OTKOm9S8XmVS8BcoE=

    US10

    If your SAP Analytics Cloud URL includes US10 (e.g. https://basic-trial-sac.cfapps.us10.hana.ondemand.com) enter these details:
  • Connection Name: DATASPHERE_SAC_PLANNING_<your_user_id>
    • Data Service URL (Data Source): https://academydatasphere-2.us10.hcs.cloud.sap/api/v1/dwc/consumption/analytical/<your_user_id>/Analytic_Model_<your_user_id>
  • Authentication Type: OAuth 2.0 Authorization Code
  • OAuth Client ID: sb-5ca19516-cd2c-4277-b8dc-504f83cee5fe!b142524|client!b655

    AP11

    If your SAP Analytics Cloud URL includes AP11 (e.g. https://basic-trial-sac.cfapps.ap11.hana.ondemand.com) enter these details:
  • Connection Name: DATASPHERE_SAC_PLANNING_<your_user_id>
    • Data Service URL (Data Source): https://academydatasphere-1.ap11.hcs.cloud.sap/api/v1/dwc/consumption/analytical/<your_user_id>/Analytic_Model_<your_user_id>
  • Authentication Type: OAuth 2.0 Authorization Code
  • OAuth Client ID: sb-e6c77e1b-094d-4963-8501-f60923e14be0!b2498|client!b23
  • Secret: a5bb74cd-4b3e-42bb-8c27-b2c06181409a$xILkwMB4kJy35_gHsJhu4RE80FGY6qD9JTx-g9jUwFw=

    1. Finally, click the Create button and you should receive a green confirmation popup at the bottom of the screen.
