Exploring Performance Troubleshooting

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to explain the approach to performance troubleshooting in SAP Analytics Cloud using a real-world scenario.

SAP Analytics Cloud Themes

You now have access to the Horizon themes in SAP Analytics Cloud! You have access to SAP Morning Horizon (light theme) and SAP Evening Horizon (dark theme), as well as SAP Horizon High Contrast Light and SAP Horizon High Contrast Dark.

Themes available in SAP Analytics Cloud as described above.

Note

For a short period, you will have access to both the old SAP Belize theme and the new SAP Horizon themes. You can change between them at any time from your user Settings. In this course, you may see a combination of both themes to demonstrate the features and capabilities of SAP Analytics Cloud.

What is Troubleshooting?

Troubleshooting is a common methodology for problem solving. It's a way to identify and resolve complex issues not only in IT, but also in other fields and even in our day-to-day lives. Car won't start? You'll probably check the battery or fuel/charge level before calling a tow truck.

Troubleshooting is simply trying to figure out why something doesn't work and find a solution to resolve it.

Let's take a closer look at a real-world scenario where we look at troubleshooting a Wi-Fi performance issue.

Summary

When trying to troubleshoot performance, it's important that we try to gather as much information as we can to help us get to the root of the problem. We start by looking at the most common problems faced by users, their known causes, and any quick-fix solutions.

Once common issues are ruled out, then it's important to take a systematic look at the issue. This is especially important when troubleshooting performance. It can be one or a combination of issues causing poor performance and taking a systematic approach will help you get to the bottom of the issue.
