When monitoring KPIs and other business metrics, you may often find yourself navigating through multiple dashboards and reports, which can be a time-consuming activity.
My Metrics is a personalized collection of metrics that matter most to you and your business. It is, essentially, a central watchlist where you can gather vital metrics from various sources into one intuitive, easy-to-access space. Imagine having a single screen where you can see a variety of data points, all updated in real-time, without having to open three different stories. That's the power of My Metrics.
With My Metrics, you can build a personalized list to track the metrics that matter most to you. Arrange all your metrics into categorized lists that are relevant to your business needs, making it easy to spot trends and understand your data at a glance.

In this video, we will build a personalized My Metrics list and add metrics to it.
Manage Your Metrics
After you add a metric to a list, it appears as a card. Select the metric card to view the chart visualization and any available data insights.
The My Metrics start page is broken down into three simple areas:
- Your Metrics
- Detailed Visualization
- Smart Insights

- The Your Metrics area contains a collection of all cards you have created or that have been shared with you. Use the list view dropdown to switch between them, browse for additional lists, or to create new lists.
Select the
Sort icon to sort the cards by Recently Added, A-Z, or Z-A. You can also change the default view for the list.In the
More settings, you can:
Rename: Update the list name.
Reload: Refresh your list to display the latest updates to your cards.
Share: Share an entire metrics list with stakeholders. In the same way that you share stories and models, you select an access level of view, edit, or full control (you can update or revoke sharing permissions at any time).
Show Difference As: Display as a percentage or an absolute.
Delete Metrics List: Delete
For each card, you can:
Rename: Update the metric name.
Move Up and
Move Down: Use the buttons or simply drag and drop the card to create a custom order.
Share: Share individual metrics instead of a full list. These are shared with an access level of view, edit, or full control. Shared metrics are automatically saved to the user's Individually Shared Metrics list.
Jump to Original: Open the story in the current tab or in a new tab in the browser.
Move To: Move a metric to a new list or create a new metrics list.
Copy To: If you have a metric that is relevant to more than one list, you can copy it instead of adding it from the story.
Smart Insights: Open Smart Insights for the metric.
Delete from Metrics List: Delete the metric from that specific list. A metric may be deleted by its owner or by a user granted full control permission on an individually shared metric. Deleting a metric removes it from the list and permanently deletes its content.
- When you select a card from your metrics list, the data is instantly visualized and its data appears in the detailed visualization area. The type of chart can be set during the creation of the metric. You can turn Smart Insights on and off and access the filters that are currently applied.
- Smart Insights help you analyze your data with an automated analysis that reveals hidden patterns and important observations in your data. It uses machine learning to analyze a data point in order to help you uncover hidden insights, understand data, and make faster decisions without extensive manual analysis.
