Let's look at common scenarios to understand how working with fact sheets can benefit you.
Finding a contact person
You may seek details about a particular application and want to contact the responsible person for access or a license. To find information in the fact sheet, follow the next steps:
- Search for a specific fact sheet using the search bar at the top ("jump to a fact sheet") or browse the inventory list.
- Click on the fact sheet to open it for detailed viewing, e.g. AC Management.
- View the fact sheet tabs for details about the application, like comments and subscribed users you may need to contact.
Find your subscriptions
You might oversee a portfolio of applications, with responsibilities extending to multiple fact sheets. The filter option makes it easy to access all your subscribed fact sheets in one place.
Filtering
If you want to find which applications support specific business capabilities in a particular region or business unit and are in the active lifecycle, follow the next steps:
- Navigate to the inventory tab in your workspace.
- Use the search and filter functions in the inventory.
- Select an application from the left-hand filter panel to display only the application fact sheets.
- To narrow your search, select the business capabilities, lifecycle, and regions/business units (under the organizations). You can add these filters by clicking the plus sign in the search query.
This lists all applications supporting a particular business capability in a specific business unit with a particular lifecycle phase.
Understanding relations through the relationship explorer and dependencies
Understanding how different fact sheet types are related and dependent on each other is important. The relationship explorer allows you to see dependencies (e.g., parent or children pages) and how your fact sheet is related to others. Correctly linking relations is essential for accuracy, generating valuable insights into the organizational landscape, and making informed business and IT decisions.
