Showcasing Changes and New Features

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to Describe the new changes and features.

Introduction to SAP Sales and Service Cloud New Features

The new features and changes can be grouped into three areas:

  • Changes to SAP Cloud Applications Studio
  • New Extensibility features for SAP Sales and Service Cloud
  • AI enhancements for SAP Sales and Service Cloud

What's New in the SAP Cloud Applications Studio

This section provides information about what is new or changed in the SAP Cloud Applications Studio since version 2111 (Nov 2011).

SAP Cloud Application Studio (Pilot) Build

Our SAP Cloud Applications Studio has been updated with the latest run-time libraries, offering the same features as before. Transition to SAP Cloud Applications Studio (Pilot) build is recommended as the original version is now deprecated.

Global Data Type (GDT) Fields in ABSL via .ref File

In the Cloud Applications Studio, GDT fields created through key user tools (KUT) are now accessible. When configuring the Customer-Specific Fields file (.ref), the system presents GDT fields alongside other fields. Simply select the desired GDT fields and incorporate them into the .ref configuration for ABSL usage.

Version Management for XBO/BO Files

Developers can now track changes, revert to previous versions , and maintain the integrity and consistency of the software system over time. Users can now track theversion history of XBO/BO files. Previously, the system only supported version history tracking for ABSL/Script files.

Other Enhancements

These are other features added to the latest versions of SAP Cloud Applications Studio:

  • A new check is introduced which does not allow you to edit MDRO in active status.
  • JSON Parser supports scientific notation values.

New Extensibility Features for SAP Sales and Service Cloud

Here are the new features introduced in the Extensibility area since version 2111 (Nov 2011):

  • Set Dynamic Font Colors: You can now use rules to set dynamic font colors for fields.
  • Protect Custom Queries: Administrators can now protect custom queries from being deleted or renamed by end users.
  • Maintain Field Labels for Add-Ons: Administrators can now translate or change field labels and UI texts for Add-Ons.
  • Assign Code List Restriction for Multiple Business Roles: Administrators can now assign code list restriction to multiple business roles at once.
  • Configure Basic Search for Extension Fields: Extension fields that are part of advanced search will no longer be enabled for basic search by default. For them to be included in a basic search, you must explicitly select them.
  • Usage of Object Data Type Fields in Other Channels: Object data type fields created by administrators are now available for use in other channels such as: extension scenarios; OData services; enterprise search; and services.
  • Minimum Character Count for Mandatory Fields: Administrators can now define the minimum character count for mandatory fields.

These updates encompass various aspects of extensibility, analytics, and enhancements, and are aimed at providing administrators and key users with more flexibility, control, and functionality within SAP Sales and Service Cloud.

OData Services Enhancements

The major enhancements released in the OData Services area are:

  • Integration with SAP Business Application Studio: Integration with SAP Business Application Studio enables you to view live SAP Sales and Service Cloud OData services and create SAP business applications such as SAP Fiori, HTML5, or SAP BTP full-stack extensions. For more information, see SAP Cloud for Customer Integration with SAP Business Application Studio.
  • OData Framework: Pagination for Attachments: You can use the $skip and $stop parameters in the GET query for attachments of an entity.
  • Precise Execution Timestamp in OData API Monitor: The Execution Date Time field in the OData API Monitor shows the exact time in the mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm:ss format.
  • OData Security Handling Restriction in Test and Prod Tenants: We have optimized security session handling during OData activity. This optimizations improves the performance during high OData activity.

These enhancements in the OData Services area aim to improve functionality, efficiency, and security, providing users with a more streamlined and robust experience when interacting with SAP Sales and Service Cloud.

AI Enhancements for SAP Sales and Service Cloud

Here are the new features and enhancements in Machine Learning Scenarios since version 2111 (Nov 2011):

  • Text Summarization: You can use the Text Summarization model to summarize English texts in Interactions and the Subject field of tickets.
  • Search Opportunities by Machine Learning Score: Using advanced filters, search for opportunities based on the score deviations featured by machine learning in the work list. This will enable you to focus and act on opportunities more effectively.

  • Business Text Intelligence: You can use Natural Language Understanding (NLU) to get actionable insights such as appointment recommendations based on notes from text analysis using business text intelligence.
  • Product Recommendation: Use the Product Recommendation model to get actionable insights on recommended products.
  • Opportunity Closing Prediction Date: You can use machine learning to predict the expected close date of an opportunity that is open or in process.

All these enhancements offer improved functionality and insights, empowering users to make informed decisions and to streamline for SAP Sales and Service Cloud processes within Machine Learning Scenarios.
