New Experience for Org Chart

Overview of the change

The latest Org Chart introduces a fresh design and an enhanced user experience for navigating your organization's structure.

Key features of the latest Org Chart include:

  • An intuitive and engaging design with the same look and feel of the Horizon visual theme, and a unified experience across web and mobile.

  • Key information is clear at a glance, including reporting relationships, job information, number or reports, employment type, out-of-office information, and so on.

  • Seamless employee information experience between the latest org chart and the latest People Profile. You can easily access an individual's key information in the new Profile Preview from the latest Org Chart and navigate to the latest People Profile for more details.

  • Two distinct view modes for users with different needs: a focused mode for casual users looking for quick insights, and a standard mode for regular users who want to explore more details of their organization hierarchy.

  • Universal People Search allows you to search for people by their job title, location, department, and so on.

  • Export the org chart to a PDF document or JPEG image for offline view.

  • Standard SAP Companion content including page help and a guided tour.

Configuration Requirements

If you have enabled the legacy Org Chart previously, the latest Org Chart is enabled by default. To opt out, you have the following options:

  • The system administrator can disable the latest Org Chart for the instance by deselecting the Enable the latest Org Chart option in Admin CenterCompany System and Logo Settings .

  • Users can switch back to the legacy Org Chart by turning off the new experience in their account navigation menu on the page header under SettingsNew Experiences.

After the 1H 2024 Preview and Production releases, we'll run background jobs to migrate all instances to the latest Org Chart. For more information about the migration schedule and status, see KBA 3448357 and SAP Community blog Latest Organizational Chart Available in First Half 2024 Release.

Note

We recommend that you enable or disable the latest Org Chart and the latest People Profile together.

Some legacy features aren't supported in the latest Org Chart. For more information, see the Related Information section.

Search Language Enhancement in Action Search

Overview of the change

You can now search for actions in the global header or in the Tools section of Admin Center using English search terms, even if you log on SAP SuccessFactors with non-English language.

Previously, if you logged on to the system with non-English language but tried to search actions in the global header search box or in Admin Center using English search terms, no results were returned. Some roles using non-English languages find this previous behavior limiting, especially when they need to test or demo functions using English terms, or when the localized translation of their systems is not accurate enough, etc. So, as of 1H 2024, administrators can grant a new permission named Allow non-English language users to search in English for Action Search (Including the Tools section of Admin Center) to certain employees and allow them to do the cross-language lookup. After non-English language employees enter the English search terms with this permission turned on, any returned actions are displayed in their login languages.

This new feature enables you to search actions in English even if you log on with other languages.

Role-Based Permission Prerequisites

You have the Administrator PermissionsManage Action SearchAllow non-English language users to search in English for Action Search (Including the Tools section of Admin Center) permission.

What's Changed

How it Looks Now

In the current version, administrators can select a new permission titled Allow non-English language users to search in English for Action Search (Including the Tools section of Admin Center) to grant the cross-language lookup functionality to certain employees.

Role-Based Permissions Supports Configuring Four People Pools

Overview of the change

Role-Based Permissions (RBP) administrators can now configure four people pools when creating a dynamic permission group in Role-Based Permissions. Previously, they can only configure up to three people pools.

RBP administrators can add up to four people pools in both the Choose Group Members: and the Exclude these people from the group: sections in the Permission Group popup.

We want to provide more flexibility in creating a dynamic permission group for Role-Based Permissions administrators, so that you can leverage people pools and reduce the number of permission groups you have to manage.

Configuration Requirements

  • We recommend that you review your currently permission groups and leverage the four people pools to reduce the number of permission groups that you need to manage.
  • We enhanced only permission groups. Other types of dynamic groups, for example, SettingsMy Group , aren’t affected.

What's Changed

Promote a Transport Bundle Across Multiple Target Tenants

Overview of the change

You can now promote or move the same transport bundle across different target tenants in Configuration Transport Center.

A Promote option is available for the transport bundle in the target tenant after you've successfully imported the bundle. The Promote option doesn't appear for an expired transport bundle. You can select a target tenant, which is already paired to promote the transport bundle. For example, if a configuration bundle is created in A, you can transport the bundle to B. After the bundle is imported successfully to B, you have the option to promote the bundle from B to C and then from C to D without rebuilding the transport bundle in each tenant.

We've introduced this feature for a better user experience. This enhancement allows you to import the transport bundle to multiple target tenants without having to rebuild it for each instance, which previously was time consuming and error prone.

Configuration Requirements

  • Ensure you've paired your tenants.

  • Ensure you've enabled Access to transport configurations role-based permission.

  • Ensure you've enabled the required Role-Based Permissions and other permissions for the respective SAP SuccessFactors Products. Refer to the Prerequisites for Using Configuration Transport Center topic in the Related Links section.

What's Changed

How it Looks Now

In the current version, the Promote option highlighted in the Configuration Transport Center tool enables you to promote a transport bundle available for import to multiple target tenants.

New Experience for People Profile

Overview of the change

The latest People Profile features a brand-new public view of your profile, consisting of Profile Preview and Spotlight, along with more intuitive user interactions.

Profile Preview greets visitors with an overview of the employee's essential details and allows you to do the following:

  • Perform common actions in the Profile Preview of other people, including calling and emailing.
  • Personalize your public profile, simple and fast, from updating your profile picture, background picture, to writing your self-description.
  • Switch between multiple employment records through a context switcher.
  • View or update specific employee data or go to another SAP SuccessFactors application right from the list of Actions.

Spotlight presents dynamic information in cards to enhance self-branding and foster internal connections. The following cards are available:

  • About Me Video
  • Badges
  • Reporting Line
  • Organization
  • Work Experience
  • Upcoming Absence
  • Skills

Note

The latest People Profile only provides a public profile view. With the latest experience enabled, the legacy People Profile remains the place where you view full employee data or edit the data based on your role-based permissions.

The latest experience currently has a limited range of features compared to the legacy experience. Be sure to review the Related Information section to understand its current scope.

What's Changed

How it Looks Now

Based on user feedback, we redesigned the public view of People Profile, empowering employees to build their personal brand and establish connections with ease.

Note

To increase the visibility of this feature, we have added Platform to the list of Products. We did not change any content of this What's New Viewer topic.

Configuration Requirements

The Profile Preview and Spotlight of the latest People Profile are enabled by default. A switch that allows users to toggle between the latest and legacy experience is available on the page SettingsNew Experiences .

As an administrator, you can hide this new experience switch and opt out of the latest People Profile experience for all users by deselecting the setting Admin CenterCompany System and Logo SettingsEnable the latest People Profile .

Note

We recommend that you keep both the latest People Profile and the latest Org Chart enabled. You may also switch off both the latest experiences simultaneously if you prefer.

For more information about the latest People Profile experience in mobile apps, refer to the Related Information section.

Role-Based Permission Prerequisites

To access the latest People Profile, you must have the User PermissionsGeneral User PermissionUser Search for the specified target population.

To view data from other SAP SuccessFactors applications in People Profile, you must have the same role-based permissions as those required for the applications. For more information, refer to the Related Information section.
