Describing Key SAP SuccessFactors Integration - Employee Central Payroll 2H 2025 Features and Enhancements

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to describe new features and enhancements of SAP SuccessFactors Integration - Employee Central Payroll 2H 2025 release

New Report to Automate OAuth Configuration

We've created a new report to automate OAuth configuration. This report simplifies the setup process by reading the certificates and importing them to the relevant transactions in SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll, reducing manual steps.

You can use report RP_HRSFEC_PAY_OAUTH_CONFIG to automate the OAuth 2.0 configuration required to integrate SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central with SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll. The report creates or recreates the technical users, SAML identity providers, OAuth 2.0 clients, and certificate mappings. It then uploads the required certificates to the trust manager.

We delivered this report to increase efficiency and minimize errors, making it valuable for users who frequently deal with OAuth configuration issues.

Configuration Requirements

You must have installed the relevant support package in your SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll system.

  • SAP Human Capital Management for SAP S/4HANA (S4HCM 101): support package 27
  • SAP Human Capital Management for SAP ERP HCM (EA-HR EHP8): support package F1

Please note that you can't use the feature as a whole until the support package mentioned has been released. The full documentation will be made available then too.

You must have configured the SAML 2.0 Identity Provider using program RP_HRSFEC_SAML_CONFIG, created and downloaded the client certificates, and downloaded the intermediate certificates.

What's Changed

You can now use this report to import the relevant certificates for oAuth 2.0 configuration.

Alumni Access to Restricted Payroll Information

Alumni access allows former employees to use the system after leaving the company. You can now create self-service links only accessible to the alumni users. The eligibility and duration of this is set by business rules and can be customized or revoked manually.

The employee with the alumni role can access or use the employee self services on both the Payroll Information screen and the Payroll Information card in Latest People Profile.

This feature benefits HR and payroll administrators by minimizing their administrative tasks and lowering costs associated with handling terminated employees. This feature also benefits the alumni employees by providing them with seamless access to their systems and RBPs, after finishing their initial employment in the company.

Configuration Requirements

To configure links for alumni users, access Admin CenterPayroll Unified ConfigurationPORTLETS. In Permission Category, you have to choose Self Service along with Alumni. If not, the system displays an error message in the following format:

Code Snippet
1
You must select Self Service if you have selected Alumni for the link <Link Name> under the <portlet name> portlet.

New, Enhanced Version of Replication Report for Positions, Jobs, and Org. Units

The RP_HRSFEC_JOB_POS_REPL report has now been replaced by the enhanced RP_HRSFEC_JOB_POS_REPL_V2 report.

Variants that were created for previous versions of the report (RP_HRSFEC_JOB_POS_REPL/RP_HRSFEC_JOB_POS_REPL_WCS) still remain valid. However, we recommend that you recreate the report variants using the new version RP_HRSFEC_JOB_POS_REPL_V2.

We created an enhanced version of the report to improve the performance. There is also a new selection screen and enhanced processing logic. Multiple languages can now be replicated in a single run. An additional improvement is that for each back-end table relevant for this report, the system checks all records with delimitations to see if relevant data has changed. If the differences are not relevant, the data is compressed and displayed as one record when replicated to Employee Central Payroll tables such as country/region-specific tables. This results in improved report performance and eliminates memory issues.

What's Changed

In the new selection screen you can select several importing languages and the relevant country/region-specific checkboxes.

The graphic shows a screenshot of the language options when importing data

Previously, there was a generic selection screen and a second screen to select country/region-specific parameters. It was only possible to select one importing language.

Custom Filters Supported on the Complete Payroll Tasks Page

Previously, it wasn't possible to save your filter selections on the Complete Payroll Tasks page. With this new enhancement, you can now save your filter selections.

This feature uses the variant management functionality that allows you to save your filter selections within the My Views dialog box on the Complete Payroll Tasks page. You can also edit, rename, and delete the saved filter selections if required.

As an administrator, in the past, the Complete Payroll Tasks page didn't retain your previous filter selections. You had to choose the required filters each time you accessed the page. With this new update, the system saves your filter selections. This change reduces the time and effort needed for your tasks.

Configuration Requirements

To select and then save your filter selections:

  • On the Complete Payroll Tasks page, choose the filter icon to open the Filter dialog box and then choose the required filters. You can save the following filter selections as your custom View:
    • Status
    • Event Type
    • Time Type
    • Location
    • Department
    • Cost Center
    • Pay Group

Note

You can't use (save) the Effective Date filter as part of a View. It can only be selected as a separate filter by itself.

The views are user-specific, visible only to the user who creates the view.

  • Choose the variant management  icon to open up the My Variants dialog box. Choose Save As to open the Save View dialog box. Now, enter the required name for your filter variant (filter selections) in the View field.

Role-based Permission Prerequisites

You must enable all of the Payment Data Maintenance Tasks Filter permissions through Admin CenterManage Permission RolesPayroll Integration Permission. Choose the following checkboxes under the MDF object Payment Data Maintenance Tasks Filter:

  • Create
  • Adjust Order
  • Delete
  • Import
  • Export

New Compensation Methods for Time Account Payouts

This feature allows you to map time quota compensation method based on time account payouts pay component.

This feature is from customer idea 311384Time account payout with selection of several compensation types.

Hint

When paying out time accounts it is necessary to be able to differentiate between several compensation types. This is caused by legal requirements (ongoing vs. single payment) or tariff regulations (salary with/without overtime pay). Currently no compensation type can be selected in the mask for paying out time accounts. Regarding to PTP Interface for Absences it is important to transfer the time account payout type to payroll system and to map it to compensation type (infotype 0416) and to able the standard payroll process.

Is it possible to get a differentiation between different compensation types here?

Previously, only one compensation method for each country/region was allowed for time account payouts. Employee Central Time allows you to configure different pay components for various time accounts. We implemented new compensation methods based on pay components in an SAP payroll system. This flexibility ensures compliance.

Configuration Requirements

You must have installed the relevant support package in your Employee Central Payroll system:

  • SAP S/4HANA HCM (S4HCM 101): support package 27
  • SAP ERP HCM (EA-HR EHP8): support package F1

Please note that you can't use the feature as a whole until the support package mentioned has been released. The full documentation will be made available then too.

Whats Changed

You can see an example of the replication of entitlement time account payouts and of accrual time account payouts.

This figure illustrates the code value mapping for entitlement and accrual payouts.

Previously, only one compensation method was allowed for payouts in each country/region.

Replication of Permanent Time Accounts Supported in an SAP Payroll System

You can now replicate permanent time accounts from Employee Central Time to an SAP payroll system.

This feature is from customer idea 291788PTP Replication - Permanent Time Account. Previously, you could replicate only ad hoc and recurring time accounts. Now, you can replicate all time accounts available in Employee Central Time to an SAP payroll system. This enhancement improves compliance and streamlines payroll processes by enabling the replication of all time accounts to an SAP payroll system.

Hint

Currently, it is only possible to replicate ad hoc and recurring time accounts. It would be useful if permanent time accounts could be replicated as well.

In Switzerland Flex- and Overtime are permanent time accounts. If the accounts would exist in ECP the following processes would be easier and especially for all time accounts the same:

  • Provisions
  • Time Account Payout

It is confusing for HR to understand why certain time accounts can be replicated and others cannot.

Configuration Requirements

You must have installed the relevant support package in your Employee Central Payroll system:

  • SAP S/4HANA HCM (S4HCM 101): support package 27
  • SAP ERP HCM (EA-HR EHP8): support package F1

What's Changed

This figure shows the new Include Permanent Time Accounts field with the selection set to Yes.

Enhancements to Data Viewing in Full Profile

We've introduced more enhancements to the data viewing experience with Full Profile cards. The following are the enhancements related to Payroll.

Payroll Information cards

Allows the employees to view their payroll information individually on multiple cards. Each piece of the employee's payroll information can be viewed as a separate card. The administrators can also view employees' cards.

These cards also contain the links to display any payroll-specific information that the administrators configured in Payroll System Configuration or Payroll Unified Configuration. Example: The Payroll Information cards display the following information: Tax, Social Insurance, Earnings, and Deductions.

The graphic displays a screenshot of the Payroll Information Card

Prerequisites

  1. Employee Central Payroll or Payroll Integration provisioning switch is enabled
  2. Payroll-specific links (if required) are configured through Admin CenterPayroll System Configuration or Admin CenterPayroll Unified Configuration.

The individual payroll information cards display in the order that you configure them through Admin CenterPayroll Unified ConfigurationPORTLETS.

You must enable an additional security layer for links that display within the payroll information cards. Refer to Enabling Additional Security for Pay Statement and Infotypes (Mashups).

Payroll Replication Details

This card is visible only to the administrator. It allows the administrator to view the details and status of the employee master data replication. The card displays:

  • Last Master Data Replication: This is the status of the employee master data replication process. It can be one of these four statuses: Successful, Pending, Failed, and Awaiting Processing.
  • The date and time of the last employee master data replication process.
  • A link to the Data Replication Monitor screen.

The graphic displays a screenshot of the Payroll Replication Details Card

Prerequisites

  • You must have the Access to Data Replication Monitor permission from Administrator PermissionsManage Integration Tools.
  • You must have the View permission of Employee Data Replication Status MDF object.

You can refer to List of Role-Based Permissions.

Configuration Requirements

Full Profile's redesigned data viewing experience is enabled by default through the setting Admin CenterCompany System and Logo SettingsEnable Full Profile for the latest People Profile. You can migrate legacy People Profile configurations to the latest Full Profile to avoid setting up the same options again in the new experience.

To learn more about the timeline for enabling Full Profile and running the migration, refer to the community blog: New People Profile Experience

Note

  • If you have already run the migration, you do not need to run it again for the 2H 2025 release unless you want to migrate specific legacy configurations for newly added cards. Consider the following:
    • The Notes block and its configurations

Notes can only be migrated. You can't add the Notes card to Full Profile.

    • The visibility setting and help text of the Income Tax Declaration and One-Time Deductions blocks

Instead of running the migration, you can configure these settings for the corresponding new cards using the Configure Latest People Profile admin tool.

    • Block IDs and MDF screen IDs

Migrate these only if you continue to use legacy block deep links. We strongly recommend that you start using new deep links to Full Profile as legacy deep links are being deprecated. Refer to Deep Links to Full Profile Categories and Cards.

  • If you have configured Full Profile, running migration again will overwrite your last modified configurations with the migrated legacy settings no matter whether you have enabled Full Profile or not.

Role-based Permission Prerequisites

For required permissions to access a specific Full Profile card, see the prerequisites listed in the "Full Profile Cards" table and the help documentation: Role-Based Permissions for Latest People Profile.

Enable Employees to Access Their Inactive Employment Data

Previously, employees didn't have access to their inactive employments in the system. As a Role-Based Permissions (RBP) administrator, you can now enable employees to access this data.

We've added a User Status field in the Grant Access to step of the role assignment creation process. This new field allows you to specify whether the role applies to active or inactive employees. To enable employees to access data from their inactive employments, choose Inactive from the User Status dropdown.

Employees can now access their inactive employment records through self-service, giving them direct control while saving you time and effort. For example, rehired employees can view data from their past inactive employments in the system. Another example is when employees return from a global assignment and can access data from their previous host assignment.

Configuration Requirements

  • The User Status field is exclusively for the Employee access user type. Employees need at least one active employment to access data from their inactive employments in the system. They must also be able to log in to the system.
  • We highly recommend that you create new permission roles for inactive users. And ensure that the permissions you grant to employees are appropriate. For instance, you might allow them to view but not edit the people profile of their inactive employments.
  • To enable employees to access inactive employments, also ensure that users with inactive employments are part of relevant permission groups. Otherwise, the Inactive Users option won't work.
  • This enhancement pertains to data access controlled by the RBP framework.
  • To access inactive employments, employees can log in using their active employment. They can then select the Context Switcher on the page header to switch to one of their inactive employments.
  • Before granting permissions to inactive users, ensure that the permissions come from products and modules that support this feature.
  • To determine if a user belongs to a permission group, use the User Group Search function in the RBP Troubleshooting admin tool.
  • You can't use this capability on mobile apps.

Whats Changed

A new field, User Status, and two supported values, Active and Inactive, display in the role assignment creation wizard.

After selecting Employee, you see the User Status field.

In the Define a Target Population step, a message displays informing you that the target population is the granted users themselves.

If you select Inactive for User Status in the Grant Access to step, the target population consists of the granted users themselves.

Deletion of Arrow-Based Pay Statement Integration

Arrow-based pay statement integration reached End of Maintenance on May 17, 2024 and was deleted on November 15, 2024. In certain circumstances, employees and administrators of existing customers still have access to Pay Statement (Fiori-like), for example, if the payroll system configuration had not been updated. This will no longer be possible as of the 1H 2026 release. Upon final removal of this access, employees and administrators will lose access to pay statements in SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central unless they have enabled another recommended pay statement integration option instead.

Key Dates

Future dates are subject to change.

MilestoneDateDefinition
End of DevelopmentMay 15, 2018The deprecation milestone after which SAP stops enhancing a product or part of a product. You can continue to use the software, but you should begin planning for a time when it will no longer be available for use. We still fix high-priority bugs.
End of MaintenanceMay 17, 2024The deprecation milestone after which SAP does not fix bugs or deliver patches for the software. SAP continues to answer your how-to questions. We strongly encourage you to adopt an alternative method for your business scenario.
DeletedNovember 15, 2024The deprecation milestone when a feature is no longer available for productive use. You should now be using an alternative method for your business scenario.

Deprecation Details

We’re deprecating the arrow-based pay statement integration because, depending on the solution you are using, there are other pay statement options that do not require the replication of payroll results and that offer a better user experience. Instead of choosing the arrow to see previous pay statements, you can select and filter for other pay statements. Please use the KBA linked below to check whether you are using Pay Statement (Arrow-based).

If you’re using the arrow-based pay statement integration with an SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll license, please use the new Pay Statement (direct) integration. The Pay Statement (direct) option allows employees to easily access their pay statements from a desktop or mobile device. You can access them using the People Profile, the SAP SuccessFactors mobile app, Homepage Action Search, Homepage Quick Action, and Microsoft Teams.

Note

New features and integrations, for example Joule integration, will only be provided for the Pay Statement (direct) option.

Note

You're impacted if you have chosen the Legacy Pay Statement service to integrate SAP S/4HANA or SAP ERP HCMOn-Premise Pay Statements with SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll. If you are integrating SAP On-Premise payroll with SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central using Add-on PA_SE_IN or ECS4HCM, and you have chosen the legacy pay statement service to integrate pay statements with SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central, you are impacted.
