Managing Programs

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to manage and modify a Program.

Actions Buttons

A program can be managed using the Action buttons that are available along the top of the entity. An administrator can Assign, Delete and Copy the Program, Send Email Notifications and Create a Cover Page.

Program Actions are highlighted.

Assign Button

Selecting the Assign button activates the Manage Assignment tool which allows the administrator to assign the program to learners.

Assign Button is highlighted.

Cover Page Button

The Cover Page link can be used to create a user-facing overview page for your Program. You can choose from three layouts and add images, videos, HTML, or any other information to your cover page. If the cover page is active, users can see it when they view the program details. The cover page shown in the above figure is currently inactive.

Copy Button

An existing program can be copied if an administrator wants to reuse its contents with minor changes like a change of date or additional required activities.

The administrator can select whether to copy the agenda, cover page, libraries, or categories of the existing program to the new one.

Program Tiles

By editing the tiles Description, Settings, Agenda, Assignments, Publishing and Attributes, the administrator can modify the program and its contents.

  • Description Tile: The Description tile allows you to provide information to describe what the program is about. HTML tags may be added to the description and the system will display the results when the user views the program details. You can enter or edit the program description by selecting the localization button.
  • Assignment Tile: Programs associated with an assignment profile will automatically be assigned to the learners that meet the rules of that assignment profile. Associated assignment profile information will display in this tile. This is a View Only tile. Administrators must create this association in the Assignment Profile entity.
  • Attributes Tile: Competencies, skills, or other attributes may be used extensively in a performance management system or in integration with Talent Intelligence Hub. To support this in SAP SuccessFactors Learning, items and programs may be associated to attributes in order to indicate specific skills or knowledge the user may improve upon by completing the item or program. Edit the Attributes tile in order to list the associated competencies or skills and indicate an appropriate rating next to each. When program completion is recorded into the user’s learning history, the achieved proficiency level is communicated to SAP SuccessFactors HCM.

AI-assisted skills inference can be leveraged to automatically infer and associate relevant skills with learning items and programs.

Note

AI-assisted capabilities require an AI Units license. Additionally, Assisted Image Generation setting must be enabled in AI Services Administration in Admin Center.

The system analyzes the titles and descriptions of items and programs to determine the appropriate skills and ratings, aligning them with the proficiency levels defined in the Attributes Library. You can review the inferred skills and ratings on the Assisted Skills Inference page before associating them with your learning content. The associated skills and ratings will then appear in the Attributes section of the relevant Items and Programs pages.

Note

AI-assisted skills inference through import is no longer supported. The Skills Inference option has been removed from the Entity Type dropdown on the Import Data and Export Data pages.
