Get started: Complete guide for SAP Certification system-based assessment
How to launch a system-based assessment?
You can start a system-based assessment through two primary entry points:
- SAP Certification details page: Click on “Go to Certification Exam.”
- Learning Journey: Select “Open.”
Once you access the exam overview, take a moment to review the following key details:
- Time limit: The total duration available to complete the assessment.
- Attempts remaining: The number of attempts left for both your specific certification and your overall subscription.
When you are ready, click “Start the Certification Exam”. This action will launch the exam environment and immediately begin the countdown.
Note
Make sure you have certification attempts available and that your SAP Universal ID is correctly configured with at least two emails with different domains associated email addresses. Refer to the Troubleshooting SAP Universal ID for more information.
How to complete a system-based assessment?
Follow these steps to complete your system-based assessment:
- Scheduling:
While some systems are available immediately, others require a reserved slot. Confirming a date and time does not count as an exam attempt. If you cannot attend your scheduled time, you may reserve a new slot.
Note: You will receive a confirmation email with all details, plus a reminder 24 hours before the exam begins. - Review setup instructions and tasks:
On the assessment dashboard, you will find two critical resources:- The setup guide: Technical instructions to ensure the environment works correctly.
- Certification tasks: The specific actions you must execute within the system.
- Access the system
- Complete and confirm the certification tasks
Click “Access System” to open the environment in a new browser tab.
You should keep the main assessment page open to reference your tasks while you work.
Once you have finished all tasks, make sure to confirm your completion on the system-based assessment page. Your results will be displayed within a few seconds.
We recommend reviewing the complete system-based assessment guide (refer to Q1).
Where to find assessment materials and resources?
To view and download the set-up guide, SAP Certification task, and course files, please follow these steps:
- Grant consent: Read and accept the terms and conditions to proceed.
- Click the "Enroll" button in the “system-based assessment” window to initialize your environment.
- Download your materials.
How much time do I have to complete my assessment?
Before you begin, make sure to check the estimated time for your assessment.
The timer starts as soon as you start, and when you’re finished, be sure to click “Confirm Completion” to submit your attempt.
Can I pause the timer and resume later if I need a break during the assessment?
No, you may take breaks as needed during a practical exam, but the timer will continue to run, and breaks will not pause the clock.
Note
You need to finish the assessment and all tasks in a single session.
What happens if I need to cancel a slot I’ve already confirmed?
To cancel a system-based assessment, please create a case, use service category “Technical Query” and include a clear title.
Note
If you have a future exam scheduled, you won’t be able to book another one until it’s canceled.
When and how will I receive my assessment results?
Once you confirm the completion of your assessment, it will be placed under review.
The process usually takes 15 minutes. You can view the result under "My Learnings --> My Certifications".
What common issues or errors lead to a failed assessment?
You may not have passed because of the following:
- The activity limit expired.
- The required passing score was not reached.
If you still have attempts left from your subscription, you can try again by scheduling a new exam.
What can I do if I experience technical issues during my exam?
If you experience issues, try the following:
- Clear your browser cache and cookies.
- Refresh the page or restart your browser after clearing the data.
- If the issue persists, try using a different browser or check your internet connection.
If you encounter a technical issue that prevents you from completing your tasks, create a case. Include a detailed description of the issue, the steps that led to it, and screenshots where possible.
After reviewing, if the issue is confirmed as a system-related error, a new attempt may be granted.
