System-based assessment FAQs

1

What should I know about SAP’s new system‑based exams?

You can access the SAP Certification system-based exams guide.
The guide provides detailed instructions, technical requirements, and system navigation best practices.

2

How to start a system-based assessment?

You can begin your SAP Certification exam from two places:

  • From the SAP Certification details page via “Go to Certification Exam”
  • From the learning journey via “Open”.

To access the SAP Certification exam page, make sure you have a valid certification attempt and that your SAP Universal ID is properly configured.

On this page you’ll find key details about your exam:

  • Whether it includes system-based or scenario-based assessments.
  • The exact time is available to complete the exam.
  • The number of attempts remaining for your certification and for your subscription.

When you’re ready, click “Start the Certification Exam” to begin.
This will start the countdown and launch your exam.

  1. Give Consent
  2. Click the "Enroll" button in the 'System Based Assessment' window

The system enrollment usually only takes a few minutes. Depending on the system, it can take a little bit longer.

5

How much time do I have to complete my assessment?

Before you begin, make sure to check the estimated time for your assessment.
The timer starts as soon as you start, and when you’re finished, be sure to click “Confirm Completion” to submit your attempt.

6

If I need a break during the assessment, can I pause the timer and resume my work later?

You can take breaks as needed during a practical exam but the timer will continue to run, and breaks will not pause the clock.

7

If I don’t finish the assessment within the allotted time, can I return later to complete it?

You need to finish the assessment and all tasks in a single session.
Once you start, the timer keeps running, and you won’t be able to pause and come back later.

8

When and how will I receive my assessment results?

Once you confirm the completion of your assessment, it will be placed under review.
The process usually takes 15 minutes.
You can view the result under "My Learning - Certifications".

9

What common issues or errors lead to a failed assessment?

You may not have passed because of the following:
  • The activity limit expired.
  • The required passing score was not reached.

If you still have attempts left from your subscription, you can try again by scheduling a new exam.

What can I do if I experience technical issues like slow performance or connection errors?

If you experience issues such as slow loading, blank pages, incorrect, try the following:

How can I complete a system-based assessment?

Once you start your certification exam attempt, follow these steps to complete your system-based assessment:

  1. Enroll and prepare the system
Select “Enroll” to set up the system for your assessment. It will then be ready for you to use. Some practice systems may already be available, but for others, you might need to reserve a slot. This will confirm a specific date and time for you to take your exam. Please note that confirming a slot does not count as an exam attempt. If you cannot attend, you can reserve another slot. Once you confirm in the system, you will also receive an email with the details and a reminder email 24 hours before your system-based assessment begins.
  2. Review setup instructions and tasks
On the assessment page, you’ll find the setup guide and the certification tasks (these are the tasks you need to perform in the system).
  3. Access the system
Press “Access System” to open it in a new tab. You can keep the test page open while working in parallel.
  4. Complete and confirm the certification tasks
Once you have finished all tasks, make sure to confirm your completion on the system-based assessment page.
Your results will be displayed within a few seconds.
12

Can I access the system again after I click “Confirm”?

No. Once you click “Confirm”, your exam ends and you cannot re-enter the system.
All browser sessions must be closed immediately after confirmation.

What should I do if I experience technical issues during my exam?

If you encounter a technical issue that prevents you from completing your tasks, create a case.
Include a detailed description of the issue, the steps that led to it, and screenshots where possible.
After reviewing, if the issue is confirmed as a system-related error, a new attempt may be granted
