SAP Certification retirements - FAQ

What does it mean when you say my SAP certification is retired?

If your SAP certification has already been retired or will be retired as a part of the transition to the new SAP Certification program, learners will no longer be able to book the certification. This means your certification badge will expire on March 31, 2025. To maintain your certification status beyond March 31, 2025, an alternative certification must be passed by then.

Understanding the significance of your SAP certification badge and how this tangible validation of specific skills and expertise bolsters your credibility and qualifications, please be assured that we are dedicated to working with you and will offer recommendations on successor or alternative pathways in our SAP Certification portfolio to help you stay current with the latest SAP solutions whenever possible.

What happens if I don’t complete the mandatory stay certified assessment, the delta assessment, or the recommended successor certification before my existing certification expires?

To ensure your skills remain recognizable and stay relevant, it’s important to avoid SAP certification lapse. Missing the March 31, 2025 expiration date to complete your mandatory stay certified assessment or a recommended successor certification will result in you becoming uncertified.

Similarly, in the case of your SAP S/4HANA Cloud certification transitioning to a role-based SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition certification, missing the January 24 – March 24, 2024 delta assessment timeframe means restarting get certified process from the beginning.

We want to help you navigate this process smoothly, and to keep you informed, SAP will proactively communicate through emails. We encourage you to regularly check ‘My Activity’ status updates on the redesigned SAP Learning Hub to avoid any risk of certification lapse.

Will there be updates about the status of my SAP certifications and reminders of expiry dates?

Personalized communication via e-mail notifications will keep you informed about your certification status and expiry dates, as well as the next steps you will need to take. An automated email will be sent two weeks and the day before your certification expires.

You can also check your ‘My Learning’ personalized dashboard in SAP Learning Hub for status updates and the SAP Certification portfolio page for the latest certification information.

How long will the certifications be valid after retirement?

If you are certified for one of the certifications that were retired your certification will be valid until March 31, 2025.

How to cancel your existing booking for a certification exam?

 Please follow this step-by-step guide.

Will I receive a refund or credit for the cancelled exam attempt?

Booked exams are not deducted from your subscription until you begin to take the exam.

In Certification Hub under ‘Exam Dashboard’, you will see the attempt has been credited to available attempts remaining with your subscription. Note this may take up to 48 hours after you have cancelled an exam.

If you do not see the attempt credited or have any questions on this topic, please contact sapcertification@questionmark.com.

What happens if I do not cancel my booked exam to get or stay certified?

If you do not cancel your booked exam to get or stay certified, it will take place as scheduled and will count as one of three attempts allowed per certification.
