Improvements of the “Recertification Needed” dimension - (Certification data explorer and downloads)
It is now possible for learning managers to track the progress of those learners that need to recertify.
To reflect the learner’s progress when a recommended alternative certification exam has been taken, the logic of the "Recertification needed" field has been adjusted as follows:
- If a learner has already obtained a valid certificate of a recommended alternative certification, then "Recertification needed" is displayed as "Done" against the retired certificate record;
- If a certification is retired and there is no distinguished "Recommended alternative," then the Recommended Alternative field is empty. In that case, "Recertification needed" is displayed as “Yes (manual check needed).” This means that the system cannot automatically identify if a learner has already completed the required recertification. In that case, please check the PDF with recommendations.
New field: Recommended (Certification) alternative (Certification data explorer and downloads)
It is now easier for learning admins to plan follow-up actions with learners who need to recertify.
A new field has been introduced in the certification data explorer and downloads: Recommended (Certification) Alternative.
This field provides information regarding an alternative certification exam recommended by SAP when the certification has been or will be retired soon.

The Recommended Alternative field can appear empty if SAP does not provide an alternative certification recommendation or if the recommendation rule is too complex to document in the data field.
