Certification retirement data added to certification exports
To make it easier for learning managers to identify learners that need to recertify, we introduced a new dimension in certification reports: “Recertification needed”.
Dimension “Recertification needed” means that a certification held by a learner has either been retired or will be retired in the near future (retirement date has been identified).
The “Recommended (certification) alternative” field is planned to be added to the report as well in February 2025.
New: simplified reporting view to drive certification targets
Based on customer feedback, we have adjusted the configuration of the “Summarized certification data” download to provide learning managers with a simplified reporting view to drive certification targets. It is especially relevant, given the certification transformation program, that runs till March, 31st 2025.
The new export configuration will contain the following dimensions: Learner Email Address, UID Country, Certification Title, Certification Code, Solution Area, Competency Relevant (former column “Partner Edge Relevant”), Certificate ID, Expiration Date.
It will also contain the newly introduced dimensions (available in Downloads & Explorer):
- Compliant UID – Yes/No/Not Applicable. If yes, a certificate is linked to a compliant SAP Universal ID. If No, UID set-up still needs to be finalized as per instructions here.
If a certification has been retired or will be retired in the near future, a certificate can’t be linked to SAP UID. The action point for a learner is to recertify. Thus, dimension Compliant UID = N/A (Not Applicable) for such certificates.
- Recertification needed – Yes/No. If yes, certification held by a learner has either been retired or will be retired in the near future (retirement date has been identified). A learner needs to identify an alternative learning plan.
Dimension Partner Edge Relevant will be renamed to “Competency Relevant”. It means that this certificate is relevant for Partner Competency.
How to identify certificate holders that need to take actions prior to 31.03.2025, using this download. Actions:
- Finalize SAP UID set-up (instructions here): Compliant UID = No.
- Take Delta Assessment: Compliant UID = Yes,Expiration date = March 31.03.2025, Recertification needed = No.
- Recertify: Expiration date = March 31.03.2025, Recertification needed = Yes.
- No action required: Expiration date past 31.03.2025.
The above changes will result in the reset of previously created bookmarks for this export. The new export configuration will also help to avoid certification record duplication. See more below.
Duplication of certification records mitigated
Due to the switch to the new unique identifier for certification records – SAP Universal ID (UID), when a learner has multiple S/P user IDs, their certificate records might be presented in the certification exports multiple times – once for each S/P user ID.
In the new configuration of the “Summarized certification data” export, we removed dimensions that caused 90% of the record duplication: Learner Name, Lerner ID (S-user), Customer Country, and Region.
The “Learner Email Address” dimension remains in the export to serve as a unique identifier of a learner.
Bug fix: UID Country / Region dimension
The accuracy of UID Country / Region dimension has been improved. Going forward, this dimension will be populated only for users with an existing UID.
New certificates charts: newly gained, renewed, and expired
The “Valid Certificates” time series chart in the certification dashboard will be replaced with the “Net new certificates” chart, which shows the amount of newly gained certificates by company learners monthly.
In the Stay Certified section below, we will introduce 2 times series that show how many certificates maintained their Stay Certified status and how many expired.
User benefit: this improvement will make it easier for learning admins to monitor their company learners’ performance and progress toward certification goals.
Bug fix: “Estimated hours” spent learning metric
It’s been reported that for some of the lessons in the dashboard, estimated hours (spent learning) entries were missing. The bug has been corrected. The “Estimated hours” metric is populated for all available lessons. This adjustment will positively affect the “Estimated hours” entries in the export, as well as the “Time spent for learning” KPI presented in the dashboard.
Bug fix: “Recertification needed” flag for certification exceptions
The “Recertification needed” flag was displayed incorrectly for several certification test codes that are exceptions of the general certification retirement rules. With the update from December, 19th, it was corrected from “No” to “Yes” for the certification test codes listed below:

Bug fix: Analytics dashboard to include learners with new SAP Learning Hub licenses only
Customers who subscribed to the new SAP Learning Hub and SAP Learning Hub, partner edition can see learning analytics for all learners with a valid license of these two products. The learning analytics dashboard will not include analytics of learners subscribed to former SAP Learning Hub, public cloud versions. This fix was applied as the SAP Learning Hub, public cloud versions, do not include any learning analytics functionality. This feature aims to simplify the view and improve the accuracy of the analytics dashboards.
