Activating the APIs in SAP S/4HANA Cloud

In SAP S/4HANA Cloud, activate and test the API to create, read, update or delete the project definition of enterprise projects.

Prerequisites

For the execution of this exercise, you need to login to your SAP S/4HANA Cloud tenant by means of a user with administrator rights.

Steps

  1. In case it is not, assign your user with the administrator business role BR_ADMINISTRATOR.

  2. Create a communication user based on the following information (replace ### with your user number):

  3. Create a communication system for your SAP S/4HANA Cloud instance, using the name: S4CLOUD###. In the Users for Inbound Communication, assign the ADDRESS_MANAGER_### user. In the Users for Outbound Communication, create a DUMMY user with any password (replace ### with your user number).

  4. In the SAP API Business Hub (http://api.sap.com), search for the proper API to perform read operations on the Business Partner. Identify a proper Communication Scenario for the API.

  5. Create a communication arrangement, based on the communication scenario you just discovered (SAP_COM_0008), using the name Address Manager ### (replace ### with your user number).

  • The application menu of the system will be different from the one in the simulation. To access the required apps, in the syste you need to navigate to AdministrationCommunication Management.
  • The password indicated in the simulation is different from the one you need to use in the system.
    • In the simulation the password is WelcomeToTheClouds1!
    • In the system you need to use password WelcomeToTheClouds01!
