Components of SAP API Management

SAP API Management consists of the following components. In the following figure, you will find the component diagram (that we will also use in later exercises).

The diagram shows the components of SAP API Management. Information on the components is provided in the next paragraph.

The important components are numbered. In the following list, you will find a first overview:

  • No. 1: API Provider - Summarizes many different sources
  • No. 2: API - The new API with URL (No. 4)
  • No. 3: API Designer - An openAPI definition
  • No. 4: The new API URL - Acts as proxy
  • No. 5: Policies - Edit the request and response message
  • No. 6: Product - Implementation of an API
  • No. 7: Application based on a product
  • No. 8: Additional services such as monitoring, testing, and more
  • No. 9: Entry in API Business HUB Enterprise
