Introduction to Guided Buying

SAP Ariba Guided Buying is an intuitive user interface that sits on top of the SAP Ariba Buying solution that further simplifies and streamlines procurement processes. Guided Buying is specifically designed for casual users (non-procurement professionals who make infrequent purchases) and functional buyers (who purchase goods and services for their own departments). Guided Buying offers a consumer-like shopping experience that guides users to make compliant purchasing decisions while adhering to company policies. Procurement professionals will still log in to SAP Ariba Buying and Invoicing for advanced purchasing, invoicing, and administrative tasks.

SAP Ariba Buying and Invoicing Key Benefits

Solution Features: Landing Pages

Landing pages provide users with persona-based landing pages. These dashboards can be configured to align forms, permissions, and system behavior for each user, presenting them with customized clickable tiles and categories to guide purchasing.

Solution Features: Policies

Policies can be configured to ensure consistent compliance for all purchases.

Validation policies

Configure policy warnings and errors related to different scenarios during the creation of a request, and provide users with feedback on any violations.

Supplier policies

Configure supplier selection policies to narrow the pool of suppliers available for selection in forms, based on different attributes, and regulate the involvement of the procurement department for purchases via Request for Quotes (RFQs).

Solution Features: Custom Forms

Custom Forms in SAP Ariba Guided Buying offer flexibility for non-standard processes. They can be created quickly using drag-and-drop widgets that allow for various types of user input, including the searching and selection of master data. Forms can be added as tiles on landing pages for easy access and can be configured with custom approval processes.

Examples of Custom Form use cases include:

  • Contract Provisions
  • Certificates of Liability
  • Product Data Sheets
  • Vendor Add/Change Requests
  • Deal Sheets
  • Incident Forms
  • Asset Tracking Forms
  • Capital Purchase Authorizations
