Objectives

Creating and Updating a Quality Review

  • Request in one place
  • Option to create review from the overview page for Buyer and Supplier
  • Ability to view status, review type, review no. for each Quality Review request in the overview page
  • Ability to search based on the keyword search from subject field
  • Buyer/Supplier can create following review types by default
    • Batch Record
    • Change Request
    • Customer Complaint
    • General
  • Batch record review allow buyer/suppliers users to collaborate on the batch documentation.
  • Allow buyer/supplier users to create batch record review
  • Provide type ahead for the Ariba Network customer batch
  • Automatically populate Quality Notifications and Inspection number for the given batch including navigation
  • Change request allows quality users to collaborate on any change, such as process, material, and equipment changes.
  • Provide subtype (to be configured by the Buyer) to distinguish different type of change request.
  • Customer Complaint allows quality users to collaborate on any product complaint.
  • Provide fields, such as date of complaint, sample available.
  • General review type allows quality users to collaborate on any other review.
  • Provide subtype (to be configured by the Buyer) to distinguish different types of reviews.
  • Ability to link a review type with Purchase Order, Advance Ship Notice, Order Confirmation, and/or Quality Notification.

The Quality Review can be created and updated by the Buyer or the Supplier.

Quality Review Status

Quality Review Collaboration displays one of the following statuses for each Quality Review request:

StatusDescription
NewThe default status, set automatically when the Quality Review request is created.
In processIndicates that the other party responded to the Quality Review request. Either the Supplier or the Buyer can change Complete to In process.
CompleteThe status selected by the Supplier to indicate a Quality Review has been completed. Only the Supplier can choose this status.
ClosedThe status selected by the Buyer when a Quality Review has been closed. Only the Buyer can set this status. A closed Quality Review can no longer be edited.

Respond to a Quality Review by E-mail

Users can respond to Quality Review notifications through e-mail to post a comment or attach files to the associated notification.

  1. Open the e-mail notification in your e-mail client.
  2. Create a reply to the e-mail, observing the limitations provided below.
  3. Send the e-mail.

The e-mail reply is encrypted for transport and is posted as a comment to the Quality Review. Any files attached to the e-mail are automatically attached to the Quality Review Document.

Limitations

  1. Users may not reformat or delete parts of the original Quality Review notification message. Doing so would prevent Ariba Network processing the message.

  3. Do not enter line breaks or exceed 1024 characters. Ariba Network removes line breaks and excess characters before posting the comment to the Quality Review.
  4. Files attached to the reply e-mail cannot exceed 1 GB in total size.
  5. When the Quality Review status is set to Closed, additional notification responses can no longer be received.
  6. Users can only send a reply to a Quality Review notification within 30 days of receipt. After 30 days, replies to the Quality Review notification will not be posted. Users can still edit the Quality Review in the Ariba Network portal.
