Employing Out-of-the-Box Storefronts

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to discuss the out-of-the-box storefronts based on different technologies

The Out-Of-The-Box Storefronts

SAP Commerce Cloud provides two standard out-of-the-box storefronts:

  1. SAP Commerce Cloud, composable storefront
  2. Accelerator Storefronts (Deprecated since 2205)

Composable Storefront

As the most important official storefront support going forward, SAP Commerce Cloud, composable storefront is a lean, Angular-based JavaScript storefront for SAP Commerce Cloud.

It's based off of the Spartacus open source code and is included in the SAP Commerce Cloud license at no extra cost. Note that the official release of the Spartacus libraries is published by SAP under the name "SAP Commerce Cloud, composable storefront". Always refer to the related documentation on the SAP Commerce Cloud, composable storefront Help Portal.

Note that any additional content regarding the Composable Storefront is out of the scope of this course. If you want to know more:

  • Register for the live session, Getting started on Composable Storefront Development. This session provides step-by-step guidance on setting up the Composable Storefront. It offers both theory and hands-on practice.
  • Attend the standard Composable Storefront (Spartacus) Developer Course to learn how to customize and extend the Composable Storefront: C4H370

Accelerator Storefronts

Besides the Composable Storefront, SAP Commerce Accelerator is a ready-to-use web implementation template that enables you to jumpstart your implementation and easily build and maintain a feature-rich and flexible commerce solution.

However, in alignment with the SAP Commerce Cloud's mission to provide a modern, headless commerce experience with easier upgrades of back-end functionality, Accelerator Storefronts are deprecated since version 2205. Concrete information about the deprecation is here.
