Maintaining Field Map for Master Data and Catalog Upload Requests

Maintaining a field map for master data and catalog export in the SAP ECC or SAP S/4HANA on-premise involves configuring and managing the mapping of custom fields between different systems or data sources. This mapping ensures that data is correctly synchronized and transferred between systems, allowing for accurate and consistent master data management.

To import the master data from your SAP ECC or SAP S/4HANA on-premise to your SAP Ariba solutions, a custom table (ARBCIG_FIELDMAP) is maintained to map the SAP ECC or SAP S/4HANA on-premise field values with the SAP Ariba solution field values. If you need to customize master data extracts by adding more custom fields to the standard extract

  1. Define the required fields in SAP Ariba solutions.
  2. Add required custom fields in SAP ECC or SAP S/4HANA on-premise by enhancing the corresponding structure with the new SAP fields.

When you are customizing master data extracts by adding one more custom fields to the standard extract, users must maintain mappings between custom fields in the SAP ECC or SAP S/4HANA on-premise and custom fields in the SAP Ariba solution for Master Data and Catalog extracts. This is an optional activity and users shouldn’t change any default values in the table.

When you maintain required entries in this configuration, the ARBCIG_FIELDMAP custom table will be updated to map the SAP ECC or SAP S/4HANA on-premise custom field value with the SAP Ariba solutions custom field value.

Caution

In the SAP ECC or SAP S/4HANA on-premise, field names are always in uppercase. However, in SAP Ariba Solutions, field names can be mixed case. If you want to use the ARBCIG_FIELDMAP table in a new SAP ECC or SAP S/4HANA on-premise landscape, you must transfer the data using a transport.

To maintain field mappings for master data and catalog upload, follow these steps:

  1. Using transaction code SPRO, navigate to Integration with Other SAP Components>Managed Gateway for Spend&Network for Buyer>Master Data Integration>Enhancements.
  2. Expand the Enhancements section and choose the IMG-Activity for Maintain Field Map for Master Data and Catalog Upload Request.
  3. On the Change View "Maintain SAP to Buyer fields mapping": Overview screen, chooseNew Entries.
  4. On the New Entries: Overview of Added Entries screen, enter the values in the following fields, as appropriate:
    • Solution: Select the SAP Ariba solution name.
    • Structure: Enter the ARBCIG RFC structure name that you’ve enhanced.
    • Field SAP: Enter the SAP fieldname that you want to map.
    • Field Ariba: Enter the custom fieldname that you added in the SAP Ariba Solution.
  5. Choose Save.
