Maintaining the Date and Time Stamp

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to Maintain the date time stamp for incremental Master Data Extract..

Maintaining the Date and Time Stamp

In the SAP ECC or SAP S/4HANA on-premise, users must maintain the date and time for an incremental extract of master data. This task is performed to define the date and time onwards from which the records of particular master data will be fetched. At the time of the first run, this date and time value helps the master data incremental extract program start fetching the records of a particular master data object.

When you run an incremental extract program for a particular master data object, the system captures the exact date and time at which the event is executed. This date and time value gets automatically updated, and allows the master data incremental extract program to determine the last run date and time of a particular data event. The program will fetch the records updated thereafter and send the information to SAP Ariba solutions in increments. This configuration is a one-time task and is crucial (though not mandatory). If you don't maintain the time stamp, all the records (irrespective of when the records are updated) will be sent to SAP Ariba solutions every time you run an incremental extract program.

To maintain the date and time stamp, follow these steps:

  1. Using the transaction code SPRO, navigate to Integration with Other SAP Components>Managed Gateway for Spend&Network for Buyer>Master Data Integration.
  2. Expand the Master Data Integration section and choose the IMG-Activity for Maintain Date Time Stamp for Master Data.
  3. On the Change View "Date and Time stamp for Master Data": Overview screen, choose New Entries.
  4. On the New Entries: Overview of Added Entries screen, enter the values in the following fields, as appropriate.
    • Extract: Select the master data object.
    • Realm: Enter your SAP Ariba Solution's realm name.
    • Variant: Enter the variant value that you have defined for the specific SAP Ariba Solution.
    • Partition: Enter the partition value that you have defined for the specific SAP Ariba Solution.
    • Date Time Stamp: Enter the date and time from when you want to start fetching the master data records.

    Hint

Date Time Stamp should be maintained in YYYYMMDDHHMMSS format.
