Discovering Key Parts of the Integration Assessment Capability covering different roles and their tasks

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to Explain different roles in an enterprise throughout the process of working with the Integration Assessment capability.

Different Roles and their Tasks Throughout the Process

As different roles within an enterprise are responsible for the planning and rollout of integration strategies, SAP Integration Solution Advisory Methodology and the Integration Assessment capability support an agile integration practice. So, the question is, who are the key roles within your journey to an implemented integration strategy, and how to improve the collaboration between business and IT with the help of this tool?

The key roles are as follows:

  • Integration Architect
  • Business Domain Expert
  • Integration Developer

To better understand the roles within the process, it is helpful to match their tasks with the different stages happening throughout the process.

Step 1: Customize Your Integration Strategy (Integration Architect)

Tasks:

  • Manage and adapt SAP Integration Solution Advisory Methodology settings to your needs:
    • Integration domains, styles, patterns
    • Integration policies
    • Questionnaires
  • Configure integration technologies and applications
  • Analyze the integration landscape

These tasks are mainly carried out in the Settings, Configure, and Analyse menus of the SAP Integration Assessment Capability:

Step 2: Create Business Solution Request (Business Domain Expert)

Tasks:

  • Processes a business solution request for specifying high-level integration requirements from a business perspective:
    • Source and target application instance(s)
    • Business process context
  • Submits business solution requests to an integration developer

These tasks are mainly carried out in the RequestBusiness Solution Request menu of the SAP Integration Assessment Capability:

Step 3: Process Interface Request (Integration Developer)

Tasks:

  • Translates business solution request into technical interface request
  • Specifies integration requirements from a technical perspective (via customizable questionnaire)
  • Gets a proposal of the integration technology with the best fit to the specified requirements and decides on the integration technology

These tasks are mainly carried out in the RequestInterface Request menu of the SAP Integration Assessment Capability:
