Explaining the Deploy Phase

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to articulate the activities covered in the Deploy Phase of SAP Activate, with focus on SAP Build Work Zone implementation project

The Deploy Phase

Play the following video to learn about the deploy phase.

Let's examine some of the tasks considering a focus on SAP Build Work Zone.

When the day arrives, it’s necessary to execute the tasks from the Cutover Plan. The production tenant of SAP Build Work Zone or SAP SuccessFactors is already enabled and surrounding the SAP BTP services and the relevant infrastructure is prepared. As such, it’s a matter of transferring content and development artifacts. Content artifacts are represented by workpages, workspaces, and business content (tiles, groups, catalogs, and roles), while development artifacts are UI Integration Cards and launchpad (shell) plugins. This work is in the Production Cutover task, and primarily executed by an application expert (focused on SAP Build Work Zone) with ad-hoc support from other experts (for example, a security expert).

Note

Note that the procedure to transfer content and development artifacts vary on type. While some artifacts can be moved with the support of the SAP Cloud Transport Management service, others provide an option for manual import and export only. Consider this during the preparation of the Cutover Plan in the previous phase.

Additional (and independent of SAP Build Work Zone) information about tasks and accelerators for the deploy phase can be found at SAP Activate Roadmap Viewer.
