Any company that produces or sells a product must meet regulations, laws, industry standards, and company standards. Chemical compliance helps you manage these numerous, often complex, requirements as you market, sell, and ship products. It integrates checks into your sales and delivery processes, preventing products from being sold into restricted or unassessed markets. Most countries and regions limit the volume of chemical substances that can be imported into, exported out of, or produced within their borders over a certain time period, or require registration of these activities. Substance volume tracking helps you comply with these requirements. The first time you enable substance volume tracking for a regulated chemical, it captures and calculates the volume since the beginning of the tracking period. It then periodically tracks these volumes for subsequent periods. The regulation specifies events that influence these calculations, and driven retracking can account for these adjustments. SAP delivers new and updated compliance requirements to simplify product marketability information. Once you activate these, you can use them across all of your business processes. Finally, chemical compliance offers advanced tools, patterns, for assessing the compliance of your un-packaged products and raw materials. Simple compliance documentation assesses compliance with requirements that don't require calculation. Substance list checks assess compliance with restriction on the substances the products contain. Supplier information ensures that each supplier of a raw material is compliant. compliance checks assign a risk level to each unpackaged chemical product. Based on these risk levels, the system determines if a given customer may receive the products.
