Objective

Predefined Roles

SAP ships foundation role templates for users and administrators of the SAP Fiori launchpad (FLP).

Additional Role Templates

Being authorized to use the FLP does not mean that any app can be started or data can be searched. To do that, additional roles and authorizations are in place. The topic authorizations must be taken seriously. SAP recommends to approach authorization specialists or to educate oneself specifically in the SAP S/4HANA authorization concept.

Enroll a User to SAP Fiori Launchpad

Business Example

You want to enable a user to work with the SAP Fiori launchpad.

Note

This exercise requires an SAP Learning system. Login information are provided by your system setup guide.

Note

Whenever the values or object names in this exercise include ##, replace ## with the number of your user.

Steps

  1. In the User Maintenance (SU01) of your SAP S/4HANA (S4H) system, create the user FLP_USER_##. Assign the SAP_BR_UX100_RAPID_ACTIVATION role to the user.

    1. In the SAP Easy Access menu of your S4H, search for User Maintenance or start transaction SU01.

    2. In the User field, enter FLP_USER_##.

    3. Choose Create.

    4. In the Last name field, enter your name.

    5. Choose the Logon Data tab.

    6. In the New Password and Repeat Password fields, enter a password.

    7. Choose the Roles tab.

    8. Open the value help of a Role cell in the table.

    9. In the Single Role field, enter *rapid*.

    10. Choose Start Search.

    11. Select the Single RoleSAP_BR_UX100_RAPID_ACTIVATION and choose Copy.

    12. Choose Save.

  2. Open the SAP Fiori launchpad spaces of your S4H in Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome and examine the error in the App Finder.

    1. Start the SAP Fiori launchpad spaces of your S4H in Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome.

      Caution

      No other session must be active of the chosen Web browser.
    2. In the Select a Certificate popup, choose Cancel.

    3. Log on with FLP_USER_## and password you created in the step before.

    4. Change the password to a new password.

    5. Choose your user in the upper right corner.

    6. In the User Actions Menu, choose App Finder.

    7. The error Failed to load catalogs appears.

  3. In the User Maintenance (SU01) of your S4H, assign the Z_FIORI_FOUNDATION_USER composite role to the FLP_USER_## user.

    1. In the User Maintenance (SU01) of your S4H, choose Change for the FLP_USER_## user.

    2. Choose the Roles tab.

    3. Open the value help of a Role cell in the table.

    4. Choose Composite Roles.

    5. In the Composite Role field, enter *fiori*.

    6. Choose Start Search.

    7. Select the Composite RoleZ_FIORI_FOUNDATION_USER and choose Copy.

    8. Choose Save.

  4. In the SAP Fiori launchpad of your S4H running in Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome, add the Display Sales Order Items tile to the My Home page and start the app.

    1. Reload the App Finder in the SAP Fiori launchpad spaces of your S4H in Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome.

      Note

      If you closed the Web browser, log on again to the SAP Fiori launchpad with user FLP_USER_## and open the App Finder.
    2. Choose the plus of the Display Sales Order Items tile

    3. In the Add to Page popup, select My Home and choose Add.

    4. Choose Navigate to Home Page.

    5. Choose the Display Sales Order Items tile.
