Once the workflow has been configured, the next step is to configure the home page to ensure that all users have a consistent and secure experience.
Why is this important? Let’s look at our example. Remember our sales rep, Amy Whitton? We want to make sure that once Amy submits her case, she can’t make any changes unless the case is assigned back to her, such as if the admin requests further information. In addition, we may not want to display all the lists on the home page to Amy, such as the All Open Cases list. Likewise, we don’t want the inquiries administrator to make any changes to Amy’s case until it is assigned to them.
During implementation, the system administrator can create different home page layouts for different users or permission groups. This ensures that each user can only see the home page layout to which they are assigned.
You can edit the existing default layout using the layout designer by adding or removing lists and widgets. You can also create new layouts, assigning them to specific permission groups and prioritizing them. A lower priority number takes precedence if a user belongs to multiple groups with different homepage layouts.
