Managing Request Assistant

Like many SAP Concur features, Request Assistant is activated by policy.

This enables you to choose what circumstances dictate when the tool can be used. For example, if you have separate policies for travel and non-travel items, you can activate the feature for the travel policy, but not for the non-travel policy. Similarly, if you define your policies by country, you might activate the feature for the UK, but not the U.S. policy.

To activate or deactivate the feature, simply select or clear the Request Cost Estimate Assistant checkbox on the General page when creating or editing a policy.

The Request Assistant feature:

• Is activated in the Request Policies area, but does not require full configuration access to Concur Request. Users with either the Request Configuration Administrator (restricted) or Request Configuration Administrator role can activate this feature.
• Is not available for the Book then Approve (Travel to Request) workflow.
• Is not recommended with the Agency Proposal feature.
• Is not recommended with the Travel Allowance Service.
• Is not connected to Concur Travel prices and customer-negotiated fares.
• Does not take configured policies into account.

• Activate or deactivate Request Assistant by selecting the checkbox in the policy’s General settings.
• Activation does not require the full Request Configuration Administrator role.
• Request Assistant does not support Book then Approve workflows or integrate with Concur Travel or negotiated fares.
• Using this feature is not recommended with Agency Proposal or Travel Allowance Service.
• The feature does not consider your configured travel or expense policies.
