Work with Workstation Applications
Introduction
Up to now, you have worked with the workstation applications delivered by SAP. These applications ensure that the correct programs are used to display or edit the corresponding file types.
Your company has now implemented a new CAD system that uses file types which cannot be displayed or edited with the existing workstation applications. For this reason, you decide to create a new workstation application.
Task 1: Create a new Workstation Application for BMP files
In the first task, you create a new workstation application. For easier understanding, the BMP file type is used as an example. For this file type, you also assign the appropriate programs.

Task 2: Test your new WS Application inside a Document
You then reopen the document that you created in the previous exercise. In this step, you assign the new workstation application to an existing file, store the file in the secure storage area, and use the display and edit programs.

Task 3: Create a new Workstation Application for Office Integration
After completing the initial settings for a bitmap file, you now want to configure the necessary settings for Office Integration.

Task 4: Test your new Office Integration inside a document
Next, verify the Office Integration directly in the document. You assign a Microsoft Word document and display and edit it within the document.
The following video shows how to use Office Integration within a document.
