Managing Activities and Onboarding for Services

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to create Activity Items for use on a statement of work in SAP Fieldglass.

Activity Items

All throughout SAP Fieldglass,Activity Items are assigned to users who must act on work items that are part of an organization's procurement workflow.

Activity items can consist of almost any activity necessary for ensuring that the procurement workflow is operating effectively, such tasks as managing workers, tracking signatures, evaluating workers or suppliers, completing questionnaires, and reviewing SOW Bids.

Organizations using SAP Fieldglass can configure Activity Items and assign them to an SOW or to individual SOW Workers.

The Activity Items tab of a statement of work emphasizing the list of activities. For each activity the Status, Action, Responsible By, and Due Date are indicated. A Group By field allows the list to be sorted by groups, and an Add Activity button is displayed at the upper right of the list.
1Status: Indicates if the Activity Item has been completed by the actor.
2Action: The name of the activity item which describes the action to be taken.
3Responsible By: Shows the responsible party required to complete the Activity Item.
4Due On: This is the date the Activity Item must be completed by, otherwise an escalation will be sent if configured.

Create Activities for an SOW

WorkingNet Networking, Inc., a global manufacturer of data networking equipment, is building several new distribution centers in several countries, while simultaneously implementing new logistics software and processes.

Their first new distribution center is being built in a suburb of Atlanta, so WorkingNet will use the new Atlanta hub as their base of operations. They're going to engage CarryAll Consulting, a logistics design and implementation firm, to both help streamline their logistics processes as well as implement the new software.

WorkingNet requires an onboarding activity to distribute security badges to workers in the Atlanta office.

As an administrator for WorkingNet, you are tasked with creating these activity items and associating them appropriately to existing SOW Activity Checklists to automatically trigger the activities based on WorkingNet's outlined requirements.

Summary
