Viewing the Progress of a Job Posting Approval Chain

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to review the progress of approvals for a Job Posting in SAP Fieldglass.

Job Posting Approvals

A buyer organization may configure specific approval processes for their job postings that will differ based upon multiple variables, statuses, and associated users that they have defined for their company. Buyers can configure zero approvals, standard tier approvals across multiple user roles, or rules-based approvals that reflect additional logic based on cost factors or other specific rules for their operational business.

Let's look at this job posting for an Engineer. The job posting reflects pending approval status, and based on the configuration of job posting approval groups for the organization's tenant, will follow this approval process:

Approvals/Audit Trail tab of a Job Posting, displaying a sequence list of approval steps and an audit trail listing those users who have already approved the Job Posting. The sequence indicates the job posting's submission time and date, followed by the users who have approved and the steps still to be completed, and ends with a space for Pending Approval. The users who have approved and the steps that have been completed with a green check mark. Steps that are still to be completed are indicated by a number listing the step in the sequence.
1The Audit Trail gives further information on the history of the job posting creation.
2The date and time stamp indicates when the job posting was originally submitted.
3The job posting has passed the first level approver.
4The job posting is now waiting for the second level approval. Once that happens it will pass to the third and final level approver.

Ultimately, as with just about every workflow in SAP Fieldglass, the configured approval process depends on the needs of the organization.

Joule-Assisted Work Item Completion

When reviewing, editing, or approving a Job Posting, buyer users often have multiple related tasks across the "manage" phase of the contingent workflow. With the Joule Co-Pilot enabled, SAP Fieldglass provides AI-driven assistance to help users quickly identify and act on those work items. Users can prompt Joule to display all pending items connected to key modules, like Job Postings or Work Orders. Joule surfaces the relevant details, provides direct access to complete or reject tasks, and can navigate users to the appropriate object pages when deeper review is needed. This functionality helps centralize task visibility, streamline approvals, and reduce the manual effort required to manage day-to-day activities.
