Describing SAP Ariba 2602 Release Features

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to describe new or changed features for SAP Ariba Contracts in the SAP Ariba 2602 release.

Generating Contract Summary in SAP Ariba Contracts Using AI

Business Details

This feature automatically creates a contract summary when buyers or suppliers access the contract workspace in SAP Ariba Contracts. The summary provides key details from the contract’s header information and is generated using SAP AI Core services.

With this feature implemented, a contract summary is generated for all contracts, both new and existing. Users have the option to generate a new version of the contract summary if the contract details change during its lifecycle or if the existing version is unsatisfactory. However, in the standard version of the feature, the number of retries is limited. Depending on your requirements, you can set up the SAP Core AI instance to set a custom limit.

Changes to the User Interface

A section displaying the generated contract summary has been added to the contract workspace. This section is located on the contract workspace overview page.

Implementation Details

Configuration

Your administrator must enable the following ICM parameters:

  • Generate contract summary in contract workspaces

Determines whether contract summary must be generated in contract workspaces in SAP Ariba Contracts using AI. If set to Yes, ad hoc task details are excluded from the data copied from the baseline contract to the supplier contract. If set to No, which is the default value, ad hoc task details are included in the data copied to the supplier contract.

  • SAP AI Core client ID

Specifies the client ID for the SAP AI Core instance. This value is used by SAP Ariba Contracts to integrate with SAP AI Core for generating event summaries. The client id can be obtained from the BTP SAP AI Core service key details.

  • SAP AI Core client secret

Specifies the client secret for the SAP AI Core instance. This value is used by SAP Ariba Contracts to integrate with SAP AI Core for generating event summaries. The client secret can be obtained from the BTP SAP AI Core service key details.

  • SAP AI Core instance authentication URL

Specifies the authentication URL for obtaining an OAuth token for the SAP AI Core instance within SAP Ariba Contracts. The instance authentication URL can be obtained from the BTP SAP AI Core service key details.

  • SAP AI Core client API URL

Specifies the client API URL for integrating with the SAP AI Core instance. The client API URL can be obtained from the BTP SAP AI Core service key details.

To set custom limits for regenerating a contract summary, you must set up the SAP AI Core instance.

Exclude Ad Hoc Tasks During Baseline-to-Supplier Contract Data Transfer

Business Details

This feature enables buyers to create a configuration to ensure that ad hoc tasks (project tasks not inherited from the template) are not included when copying data from a baseline contract to a supplier contract as part of the pre-award negotiation workflow.

When buyers create supplier contracts in a guided sourcing event set up for pre-award negotiation, the details from the associated baseline contract are copied to each supplier contract. Copying ad hoc tasks from a baseline contract into a supplier contract can unintentionally convert informal, optional, or exploratory activities into binding, enforceable processes. By excluding such tasks you can ensure that the supplier contracts contain only the necessary information from the baseline contract.

Implementation Details

General Prerequisites

  • Your site must have guided sourcing enabled and you must be a member of the Category Buyer group.
  • Your site must have SAP Ariba Contracts integrated with SAP Ariba Sourcing.
  • Your site must have the pre-award negotiation functionality enabled.

Configuration

Your administrator must enable the Exclude copying ad hoc tasks from baseline to supplier contract (Application.ACM.ExcludeCopyingAdhocTasksFromBaselineToSupplierContract) ICM parameter. It determines whether ad hoc tasks should be excluded when copying data from the baseline contract to the supplier contract in an event set up for pre-award negotiation.

If set to Yes, ad hoc task details are excluded from the data copied from the baseline contract to the supplier contract. If set to No, which is the default value, ad hoc task details are included in the data copied to the supplier contract.

A member of the Customer Administrator group sets this parameter in the Intelligent Configuration Manager workspace.

Business End User Tasks

Create a supplier contract in a guided sourcing event set up for pre-award negotiation.
