Exploring Cloud Integration Gateway

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to articulate an introduction to the SAP Cloud Integration Gateway.

Integration Basics: Traditional Integration Challenges

Complex
  • Cumbersome, costly, inefficient, and difficult to maintain integration processes.
Dependencies
  • Dependency and need for lot of assistance for initial deployment and upgrades.
Long deployment cycles
  • Long deployment cycles with varied integration requirements and challenging upgrades can be very time consuming.

SAP Ariba Cloud Integration Gateway: Solves Traditional Challenges

SAP Ariba Cloud Integration Gateway (CIG), enabled by SAP Cloud Platform Integration, overcomes these traditional challenges. CIG provides a fast, simple way to connect SAP Ariba solutions to SAP back-end systems.

Simple
  • Single gateway to integrate all your applications
  • Simple steps to integrate - Configure, Extend, and Test
Self-Service
  • Do-it-Yourself (DIY) integration with Automated Testing
  • Self Service Wizard to manage the integration process using wizard based step by step guidance
Speed
  • Shorter deployment times with Automated Testing and Embedded Monitoring

SAP Ariba Cloud Integration Gateway Architecture – Overview

An infographic displaying the Firewall secure tunnel between SAP Ariba and Customer Environment.

The diagram above depicts the architecture of the SAP Ariba Cloud Integration Gateway. Leveraging the SAP Cloud Platform, the SAP Ariba Cloud Integration Gateway integrates customers SAP system to SAP Ariba solutions.

The SAP Ariba Cloud Integration Gateway add-on sits within the customers SAP system and is required for integration. The Cloud connector is used to establish connectivity to the SAP Cloud Platform, without the customers firewall having to open an inbound port.

SAP Ariba CIG: Supported Systems

SAP Ariba Cloud Integration Gateway supports the following versions of SAP ERP and SAP S/4HANA:

  • SAP EHP0-EHP8 for SAP ERP 6.0
