Before starting the installation of the Business Warehouse (BW) content, consult SAP Note 2289865Configuration steps for SAP S/4HANA Analytics. This note describes the necessary steps to configure SAP S/4HANA embedded analytics – and refers to task list SAP_BW_SETUP_INITIAL_S4HANA.

The first task of task list SAP_BW_SETUP_INITIAL_S4HANA ensures that you have read SAP Note 2303900 on Latest Information about BW Setup in S/4HANA Systems.

Monitor the BW Content Activation

The result of task Install essential BW Content can be monitored further using the application log (transaction SLG1). As filter for the application log, enter ObjectRSTCO_UT.

Activate SAP S/4HANA Embedded Analytics using Task List SAP_BW_SETUP_INITIAL_S4HANA

Steps

  1. In your SAP S/4HANA system, configure SAP S/4HANA embedded analytics using task list SAP_BW_SETUP_INITIAL_S4HANA in background mode with the following parametrization:

    Set/Check BW Client:100

    1. Log on to your SAP system using the train-## user.

    2. Start transaction STC01.

    3. In the Task List field, select SAP_BW_SETUP_INITIAL_S4HANA and choose Generate Task List Run (F8).

    4. Select the Help icon for the task with description Confirm Reading of Note 2303900 - Latest Information about BW Setup in S/4HANA Systems. Read the text (referring to SAP Note 2303900). When you are done, close the pop-up.

    5. Select the symbol in the Status column for the task with description Confirm Reading of Note 2303900 - Latest Information about BW Setup in S/4HANA Systems (the tool tip is Manual activities required). To confirm that you have read SAP Note 2303900, choose Confirm.

    6. Select Change Parameters for the task with description Set/Check BW Client.

    7. Ensure that Enter BW Client is set to 100. When done, choose Save and then Back (F3).

    1. Keep all other settings unchanged and choose Start/Resume Task List Run in Background (F9).

      Expect a runtime of about 15 minutes.

    2. Verify that the task list run was successful.

    3. You may choose Auto (Set Auto Refresh Timer) to auto-refresh the task list run. Do not change the 60 seconds interval.

    Result

    You configured SAP S/4HANA embedded analytics.

  2. Check the application log for object RSTCO_UT.

    1. Continue working in your SAP system using the train-## user.

    2. Start transaction SLG1.

    3. In the Object field, enter RSTCO_UT.

    4. Keep all other settings unchanged and choose Execute (F8).
