AI-assisted writing is available for use in more product areas, and now also includes the Content Translation and Text Analyzer features.

We've also added the following new AI-actions:

• Translate: For written text, the user can select this option to choose the target language they'd like it translated to. The following capabilities are supported with this action:
  • Translation from en-US (US English) to all 46 languages supported in SAP SuccessFactors
  • Full translation between the following languages: English (US), German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese (Simplified) and Japanese
• Analyze Text: With this option, a safety scan is performed on each text box, prompt entry, or Generative AI output in order to detect bias, and remove discriminatory or violent language. Users can choose to accept or reject the suggested text presented for replacement.

  Text Analyzer scans for the following safety attributes:

The table below lists the SAP SuccessFactors product areas that support AI-assisted writing as of the 2H 2024 release.

With these new enhancements, customers can access content in their native language, reinforce inclusive language, and further enhance the quality of their communication.

• You've purchased the AI units license. For more information about the AI units license, please contact your Account Executive.
• You've enabled the AI-Services Administration → Assisted Writing with Text Analyzer option in Admin Center.

• You have the Administrator → Manage AI Capabilities → AI Services Administration permission.
• Employees have the User Permissions → AI Access → Assisted Writing permission.

In the current version of AI-assisted writing, content translation is supported. In this example for Opportuity Marketplace, the Translate action is being used to translate the assignment description into another language.

Text analysis is also supported. In this example, the Analyze Textaction is being used to scan the assignment given to an employee to ensure that it is using inclusive language.

In the previous version, the AI-assisted writing tool only supported the following modules:

The Translate and Analyze Text options were also not available.

The Assisted Writing with Text Analyzer option on the AI-Services Administration page was previously called Assisted Writing.

AI-Assisted Writing

As an administrator, you can now use the new Configure People Profile admin tool to configure the latest People Profile, including general settings, content of both the Spotlight and Full Profile.

With this admin tool, you can:

• Configure whether employees can add name pronunciation or self-introductory video
• Define the name format and employment differentiator displayed on employees' profile
• Manage the background image library
• Show or hide cards on the Spotlight and Full Profile
• Add help content for Full Profile cards
• Create and reorder custom categories and custom cards
• Configure the data displayed on specific predefined cards

Here's what the new admin tool looks like:

To use the new admin tool, you must enable the Full Profile of the latest experience, along with the Profile Preview and Spotlight.

You have the Administrator → Manage System Properties → Configure People Profilepermission.

Configuring the Latest People Profile

We are deprecating basic authentication that uses SuccessFactors usernames and passwords by November 13, 2026. The end of support date is May 16, 2025. We request that all customers migrate to SAP Identity Services – Identity Authentication (IAS) for authentication instead.

Future dates are subject to change.

Previously, users with multiple employment could log in the system using all their employment usernames and passwords. After the deprecation, the user can log in the system through SAP Identity Services – Identity Authentication (IAS) using login name and password.

New hires (onboardees) and external learners can only log in the system through SAP Identity Services – Identity Authentication (IAS).

A new admin tool, Role-Based Permissions Troubleshooting Tool, is now available in Admin Center. This tool helps you troubleshoot issues related to role-based permissions.

The User Role and Permission Search tab allows you to search for and compare permission roles and user permissions of access users in your target population. You can search for the roles and permissions of a single user. Alternatively, you can search for and compare the roles and permissions of two users.

We made the new feature to help you better prevent, diagnose, and fix RBP issues.

This is the new Role-Based Permissions Troubleshooting Tool.

You can search for the permissions and roles of an access user.

You can also search for and compare the roles and permissions of two access users.

As a Role-Based Permissions administrator, you can now configure the effective duration of a permission role. When you create a role assignment for a permission role, the role assignment creation wizard displays an Enable Effective Duration option.

The start and end dates of the effective duration align with your company's preferred timezone. However, we provide the corresponding UTC time after theStart and End Dates field for your reference.

RBP administrators who need to set the time frame of a permission role can now leverage the new RBP experience. Role assignments can now be automatically activated based on effective duration, which can promote your productivity by reducing manual maintenance.

In the legacy Role-Based Permissions, effective duration is not supported. The role list page doesn't include role name hyperlinks for permission roles that have configured effective duration. If you want to configure effective duration, you need to use the Latest Role-Based Permissions instead.

Assigning a Permission Role

As a Role-Based Permissions administrator, you can now view all details of a role assignment in one page. You can access the role assignment details page by clicking the name of a role assignment. Previously, you needed to click different action buttons in the Actions column under the Assignments tab of a permission role, for example, Target Criteria, to view target criteria details of a role assignment.

We consolidated all details of a role assignment in a single page for your easy review.

Depending on the permissions you configured in a permission role, the tabs you can see in a role assignment details page may vary.

You can now click the name of a role assignment to view its details.

All the detailed information is listed under different tabs.

Previously, you needed to click different action buttons to view role assignment details.

Previously, after you clicked the action buttons, for example, Target Criteria, a popup of target criteria details displayed.

The Latest Role-Based Permissions

In the latest version of Role-Based Permissions, administrators can now configure tree security permissions.

This enhancement closes the gaps between the latest Role-Based Permissions and the legacy Role-Based Permissions. It allows RBP administrators who need to configure tree security permissions to leverage the new RBP experience.

Assigning a Permission Role

The View User Permissionsadmin tool will reach End of Maintenance on November 15th, 2024 and will be deleted on May 16th, 2025.

Future dates are subject to change.

The Role-Based Permissions Troubleshooting Tool replaces View User Permissions. This new tool consolidates and improves existing RBP troubleshooting functions.

As a Role-Based Permissions administrator, you can now check the status of a permission role in the latest Role-Based Permissions. A new column, Status, is added to the role list page and the role details page. Supported values of Status are Active and Inactive.

We made the enhancement to close the gaps between the latest Role-Based Permissions and the legacy Role-Based Permissions. RBP administrators who need to check permission role status can now also leverage the new RBP experience.

There's now a Status column in Manage Permission Roles.

Previously, there was no Status column.

The Latest Role-Based Permissions

As a Role-Based Permissions administrator, you can now copy permission roles in the latest Role-Based Permissions. A new button, Copy, is added to the Actions column of the role list page.

We made the enhancement to close the gaps between the latest Role-Based Permissions and the legacy Role-Based Permissions. RBP administrators who need to copy permission roles can now also leverage the new RBP experience.

Only permissions are copied. Copying role assignments isn’t supported.

There's now a Copy button in the Actions column in Manage Permission Roles.

Previously, there was no Copy button.

The Latest Role-Based Permissions

We subdivided Role-Based Permissions administrator access into view and edit accesses. Role-Based Permission Admin (View) is splitted into View Group and View Role, while Role-Based Permission Admin (Edit) is splitted into Edit Group and Edit Role.

The admin tool Manage Support Access also adopted the new RBP administrator access.

We want to provide more granularity in the Role-Based Permissions administrator access control.

The system automatically migrates your RBP administrator accesses, so you don't need to do any manual work. However, you can modify the accesses to better meet your business needs.

Granting Administrators Access to Role-Based Permissions

A new feature, AI-Assisted Microsoft Teams App Chat, is now available in Work Tech. It allows users to interact with the SAP SuccessFactors app in Microsoft Teams to initiate HR transactions or view personal data using natural language through a built-in AI engine.

With this feature, users can initiate quick actions and complete tasks simply by typing natural-language requests. The feature supports multiple locales and recognizes different phrases with the same intention. For example, whether users type "I want to request a day off" or "request OOO" or something else with the same meaning, the app will return the Request Time offquick action to help them proceed. This capability adds flexibility for conversational interactions and complements the existing fixed commands, offering a more intuitive way to engage with the SAP SuccessFactors app.

We developed this feature to improve user experience by making task completion more intuitive and adaptable to various inputs.

UI labels in the CSV file downloaded from the Manage Languages page are now sorted alphabetically by their message keys.

When downloading default or custom UI labels from the Manage Languages page, the labels are now organized in ascending alphabetical order by their message keys. Previously, there was no specific order. The message key-based sorting clusters labels by feature, module, or product, making it easier to navigate and locate relevant labels.

The enhancement improves customers' experience of searching for message keys or locating all the labels that belong to a particular business area.

UI labels are now organized in ascending alphabetical order by their message keys.

The consumption of AI units is metered based on your usage of premium AI features. You can now monitor the consumption of AI units across all premium AI features enabled in your SAP SuccessFactors applications.

We've enhanced the AI Services Administration page to provide you the option to navigate to SAP for Me to review detailed information about your consumption of AI units, which includes:

• Your current balance of AI units.
• A summary detailing the consumption of AI units by each premium AI feature.
• The number of AI units approaching their expiration date.

We made this enhancement to provide you better visibility and control on the usage of your AI units.

You have access to SAP for Me. For information about getting access to SAP for Me, refer toHow to Access SAP for Me in the Related Information section.

You have the Administrator → Manage AI Capabilities → AI Services Administration permission.

In the current version, the AI Services Administration page includes a new section titled Business AI Consumption Dashboard. This section includes the AI Units Consumption Dashboard link that opens the SAP for Me page, allowing you to view the usage information about your AI units.

In the previous version, there was no option to review the usage metrics for AI units.

How to Access SAP for Me

You're now able to view the job owner's name and email address on the View Job Details page in Scheduled Job Manager.

Here are the details:

• The job details page now shows the job owner's name instead of their ID.
• In the Notification section, you can also spot the job owner's email, provided they have one. Before, this email wasn't visible.
• We've tweaked the label from Additional Recipients to just Recipients in the Notification section.

We've enhanced the job details page to provide you with more information.

Monitoring Scheduled Jobs in Admin Center

The Scheduled Job Manager supports limiting the occurrence and recurrence of certain types of scheduled jobs. These can be One-Time, Recurring, or Dependent Of.

For instance, if you're creating a job request and choose a job type that only supports a one-time occurrence, you'll only see the One-Time option available. The other two options, Recurring and Dependent Of, become grayed out.

We've made enhancements to assist you in scheduling jobs using appropriate occurrence and recurrence patterns.

Not all job types tie to a specific job occurrence.

For existing job requests that currently only support One-Time but were previously configured as Recurring or Dependent Of, no warning or error shows up. If you edit these job requests, the Recurring and Dependent Ofoptions become grayed out, leavingOne-Time as the only available option. If you don't update the occurrence to One-Time, an error pops up when you save the edited job request page.

Creating a Scheduled Job Request in Admin Center

Profile Preview now replaces the employee quickcard throughout the SAP SuccessFactors HCM suite in all systems when the latest People Profile is enabled, with the exception of the legacy Org Chart.

Previously, the Profile Preview of the latest People Profile replaced the employee quickcard on just 2 pages. Now, the Profile Preview replaces the quickcard everywhere except in the legacy Org Chart. Profile Preview can be accessed:

• Using the(employee information)icon on any page.
• By searching for someone in the global page header and choosing the (employee information) icon on the search result.
• By choosing Public Profile in the user account menu.

The Profile Preview includes much of the same information and functionality as the quickcard, including displaying user names and integrating with Microsoft Teams chat.

This change provides greater consistency and a better user experience.

There's no separate configuration or control of this replacement. Availability of the employee quickcard is now dependent on the version of People Profile that's enabled in the system. When the latest People Profile experience, consisting of Profile Preview and Spotlight, is enabled, the Profile Preview replaces the employee quickcard everywhere except in the legacy Org Chart.

By default, the latest experience is enabled through the setting Admin Center → Company System and Logo Settings → Enable the latest People Profile .

In the current version, when the latest People Profile is enabled, the (employee information)icon always opens the Profile Preview on all pages except in the legacy Org Chart. For example, you can use it to open the Profile Preview on the Job Requisitions page.

In the previous version, when the latest People Profile is enabled, the (employee information) icon only opens theProfile Preview in two places (the search box in the global page header and on the latest Org Chart). On other pages, it opens the employee quickcard. For example, you can use it to open the employee quickcard on the Job Requisitions page.
