Utilizing SAP Business One, Web Client Accounting

Adapting the Chart of Accounts Structure 

In this video, you'll learn how to change the details and the position of an existing account, and how to add a new account in the same level or a lower level. First, I'll edit a GL account details and position. From the home page, I choose the accounting group, then the chart of accounts tile. I expand to level five and open the detailed view of this active GL account. I choose edit. In the External Code field, I enter a number to define an additional code for sorting and refining queries. Then I choose the Details tab and select a default VAT group. Lastly, I choose the Position tab and choose to locate this account under a different title after account code 101000. I could have moved the selected account to a different level 1 drawer, title, or other level. I choose Update to save the changes. To create a new GL account, I choose the GL account for which I want to create a same level or sublevel account. In this example, I would like to create a new insurance account under the Level 4 insurance title account. I'll search for it, then select it from the list. And then from the Create drop-down list, I select Sub-Level Account. On the General tab, I enter the relevant account information, such as the account code and account name. On the Properties and Details tabs, I can define the relevant properties and details. On the Position tab, the information is filled automatically according to my selected account and creation option. I can change the settings if needed. To add the new GL account to the company database, and to continue adding more new GL accounts, I choose Add in New. When defining the new account, I can change the size of the chart of accounts and the detailed pane using the slider between them.
