How can I stay certified? Which steps should I follow?

Please follow step-by-step guide to find out how to get certified.

Do I need to have a subscription to SAP Learning Hub to stay certified?

Yes. To stay certified, you must have a subscription to the enhanced and redesigned SAP Learning Hub. With one single subscription, you can get access to all resources you need to prepare for certifications, take the certification exams with four included certification attempts and stay certified with access to stay certified assessments and preparation materials. You can purchase a subscription on SAP Learning Hub or by contacting your SAP representative. SAP PartnerEdge members can learn more about and subscribe to SAP Learning Hub, partner edition.
Alternatively, if you don’t have an SAP Learning Hub subscription, you still have the option to purchase and retake an SAP Certification exam every year.

What is the difference between taking a certification exam and completing assessments to stay certified?

An SAP Certification exam is a comprehensive valuation of skills required to earn a certification in a specific SAP solution or role. The exams are proctored and can typically take up to three hours. If candidates fail the exam, they need to repurchase an SAP Certification exam attempt and retake the exam.

In contrast to SAP Certification exams, stay certified assessments are short, not proctored quizzes with unlimited trials. The assessment covers only the knowledge needed between releases to make sure learners stay continuously up-to-date with the solution updates. Stay certified assessments are accessible only with an SAP Learning Hub subscription.

If a learner doesn’t have an SAP Learning Hub subscription to complete the stay certified assessment, and their SAP Certification expires, they need to repurchase and retake the full SAP Certification exam.

How do I activate my new SAP Certification features in SAP Learning Hub?

New features to get and stay certified, including updated certification status, ‘My Learning’ personalized dashboards, and access to learning resources and assessment exams to stay certified, will be available in SAP Learning Hub as of April 2024. Activating these features requires you to log into SAP Learning Hub with your SAP Universal ID, link it with a secondary email address, and add your existing accounts.

If this activation is not completed, your certifications automatically expire on March 31, 2025.

If I am already an SAP certified learner, how do I stay certified?

Do I need to have a subscription to SAP Learning Hub to stay certified?

Your ability to get and stay certified depends on the evolution of your existing certifications. We’re here to support you every step of the way. Learners require an SAP Learning Hub subscription to maintain their certification status and access the latest self-paced enablement content, live webinars, scenarios-based exams, and more. Common pathways to getting and staying certified include:

  • My existing SAP certification will remain valid and part of the SAP Certification portfolio past March 31, 2024.
What needs to happen by March 31, 2025:
You will need to complete a self-paced re-certification assessment before your current certification expires on March 31, 2025. Once you pass, certification validity will be extended by 12 months from the assessment completion date.
  • My existing SAP certification is retired, but SAP has recommended a successor certification.
What needs to happen by March 31, 2025:
You can maintain certified status by passing the alternative certification exam before March 31, 2025, when your existing certification expires.
  • My existing SAP certification will expire without an alternative certification recommendation on March 31, 2025.
What needs to happen by March 31, 2025:
To help you navigate this, we recommend exploring the SAP Certification portfolio and developing skills that best suit your role. Taking thoughtful steps to plan your next moves will not only keep you relevant but also ensure your SAP certification remains current beyond March 31, 2025.

Check your ‘My Learning’ personal dashboard in the redesigned SAP Learning Hub to understand the status of your certifications and explore recommended pathways forward. You can also search for certifications and access the latest certification information on the SAP Certification transformation page.

How do I transfer my certificates?

With SAP Universal ID there is no need to transfer your certificates anymore when you are an SAP customer. When you switch your employer, you just need to add your new employer user email to your SAP Universal ID and remove the old employer's email.

When you are an employer of an SAP partner company transfer is still required. Please send an email to the Partner Support Team to request the transfer from one S-User to another. Please ensure that you have the new S-User linked to your SAP Universal ID.

In case you have created multiple SAP Universal IDs please reach out to the Customer Interaction Center support to get them deleted so that only one is left that you can continue to use. The certificates will be deleted if the associated SAP Universal ID is deleted. Therefore, it is important to keep the SAP Universal ID associated with certificates active.

You should consider to contact support if:

  • Certified professional is 6 month out of projects due to any reason (need to be proven by employer statement)
  • License still in purchase/ renewal by SAP
  • Natural disaster in location of certified professional
