Building and Deploying a Process

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to explain compiling and deploying of PO processes

Process Deployment

After the process configuration has been built using iFlows, it must be created as an integrated configuration.

This following process is described in the figure, Deployment Process:

  1. The applicable integration flow is chosen in the Explorer tree of the PI Explorer perspective and Deploy is chosen from the context menu.

  2. The deployment process begins and is displayed and can be monitored in the Deployment Log.

  3. After the integration configuration has successfully been deployed, it displays in an activated state in the Integration Build.

Note

If an integrated configuration already exists for the same Sender key information, another integration cannot be deployed. In this case, the deployment process generates an error and the active integrated configuration must be removed.

Process Undeployment

There might be several reasons to undeploy a process, for example, the process is outdated, and you want to retire the process.

SAP NWDS offers an own Deploymentperspective, which you can also use to undeploy your BPM process.

To undeploy a BPM process, perform the following steps:

  1. Open the Deployment perspective
  2. In the Repository Explorer search for your component, you want to undeploy.
  3. Move your component to the Undeployment List
  4. Choose Start.

Exercise Information

Note

In this exercise, when the values include ##, replace the character with a two-digit number (01–30).

Exercise Options

You can perform this exercise in two ways:

  1. Live Environment: choose Start Exercise, and from the entry page choose Open PDF Document. Follow the steps described in this pdf in your own system landscape.
  2. Simulation: choose Start Exercise, and from the entry page choose Start Tutorial. Watch the step-by-step instructions within the simulation.

Note

We recommend running the simulation first.
