Configuring SAP S/4HANA Cloud

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to discover how to configure SAP S/4HANA Cloud for the integration.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Configuration

The initial focus in the integration process involves the configuration of SAP S/4HANA Cloud. Subsequent stages will focus on setting up the SAP Cloud Integration (SCI) to facilitate effective communication between systems, followed by the configuration of the SAP Commerce Cloud system.

Performing the integration setup in SAP S/4HANA Cloud requires you to follow these necessary steps.

Integration Setup Steps in SAP S/4HANA Cloud - Visual Workflow: Complete the prerequisites, create trust relationships, create the communication user, create the communication system, evaluate required communication scenarios, and create communication arrangements. Essential guide for setting up integration in SAP S/4HANA Cloud.
  1. Complete the Prerequisites

Before configuring SAP S/4HANA Cloud, obtain the administrator business user credentials containing SAP_CORE_BC_COM (Communication management) business catalog. Example: (Administrator) business role SAP_BR_ADMINISTRATOR.

If you're logging in as an Administrator, the following are available as pre-enabled applications:

    • Maintain Communication Users
    • Communication Arrangements
    • Communication Systems
  2. Create Trust Relationships

Trust relationships enable the establishment of secured connections between known servers, whose identity can be confirmed by signed certificates.

    How to Create Trust Relationships

    1. Download the SCI Certificate from SAP Cloud Integration

Download the SCI certificate from the SAP Cloud Integration tenant with a web browser.

    2. Upload the SCI Certificate to SAP S/4HANA Cloud

Upload the SCI certificate to SAP S/4HANA Cloud with Maintain Certificate Trust List.

  3. Create the Communication User

The communication user, defined in SAP S/4HANA Cloud, is used for inbound communication (calling services) and processing messages in SAP S/4HANA Cloud. Create communication users using the Maintain Communication Users application.

  4. Create the Communication System

The communication system is used to define the host name of SAP Cloud Integration and assign inbound and outbound users of SAP S/4HANA Cloud. Create a new communication system using the Communication Systems application.

  5. Evaluate the Required Communication Scenarios

Communication scenario indicates a set of services and APIs that are enabled in SAP S/4HANA Cloud to facilitate different integration use cases. The following table provides an overview of some scenarios (indicated by a specific number) and their use cases.

    Communication ScenarioPurpose
SAP_COM_0008Business partner replication (B2B unit/customers) through SOAP from SAP S/4HANA Cloud Edition (CE) to SAP Commerce Cloud.
SAP_COM_0009Replication of products/materials (MATMAS) IDocs from SAP S/4HANA CE to SAP Commerce Cloud.
SAP_COM_0160Classification from SAP S/4HANA Cloud CE to SAP Commerce Cloud
SAP_COM_0295Pricing and discounts replication from SAP S/4HANA Cloud CE to SAP Commerce Cloud
SAP_COM_0447Stock from SAP S/4HANA Cloud CE to SAP Commerce Cloud
SAP_COM_0288Sales order exchange from SAP Commerce Cloud to SAP S/4HANA Cloud
  6. Create Communication Arrangements

Communication arrangements in SAP S/4HANA Cloud define all the relevant information for the interface. The arrangements contain the communication system and authentications (both inbound and outbound).
