Preparing SAP Cloud Integration to Function as Integration Middleware

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to identify the steps to configure SAP Cloud Integration as the middleware solution.

SAP Cloud Integration Settings

Now that we've learned how to configure SAP S/4HANA Cloud, let's shift our focus to configuring SAP Cloud Integration. SAP Cloud Integration is the connecting "middle ware" with SAP S/4HANA Cloud and SAP Commerce Cloud integration scenario. It also connects SAP Cloud applications with other SAP and non-SAP applications.

While some steps, like completing prerequisites and maintaining trust relationships, remain the same as for SAP S/4HANA Cloud, there are also some different steps to consider. Let's take a closer look at how to configure SAP Cloud Integration.

Steps to Configure SAP Cloud Integration - Visual Guide: Complete the prerequisites, create and maintain trust relationships, locate the SAP Cloud Integration runtime URL, define credentials, discover and copy the integration package, configure and deploy artifacts from the integration package, and retrieve client data from the SAP Business Technology Platform Cockpit. Essential steps for configuring SAP Cloud Integration.
  • Complete the Prerequisites

To import and deploy iFlows in SAP Cloud Integration (SCI), assign the integration Developer AuthGroup role in the SAP Cloud Integration tenant.

  • Create and Maintain Trust Relationships

To install SSL certificates for inbound communication, download the SSL Certificates from SAP Commerce Cloud and SAP S/4HANA Cloud instances using the web browser. And then, import the certificates to SAP Cloud Integration.

  • Locate the SAP Cloud Integration Runtime URL

Find the SAP Cloud Integration Runtime URL in the SAP Cloud Integration provisioning email or from an existing iFlow, such as Replicate Business Partner from SAP Business Suite, when successfully deployed

  • Define Credentials

To facilitate seamless data transfer between all three systems, it's essential to configure both SAP Commerce Cloud and SAP S/4HANA Cloud credentials in the middle-ware solution, SAP Cloud Integration, employing the desired authentication method.

  • Discover and Copy the Integration Package

SAP offers pre-configured integration artifacts that follow best practices, enabling the configuration of data flow between subscribers. For example, routing rules and filters can be utilized for this purpose

Using SAP Web UI, discover and copy the following Integration Package:

    • SAP Commerce Cloud Integration with SAP S/4HANA Cloud

Integration between SAP Commerce Cloud and SAP S/4HANA Cloud Edition for Master Data and Order Replication

  • Configure and Deploy Artifacts for Integration Packages

To configure artifacts for the SAP Commerce Cloud Integration with SAP S/4HANA Cloud package, access the Design view in SAP Cloud Integration and complete tasks for each iFlow in the package. Adjust the necessary settings and deploy the iFlows through the Monitor view.

  • Retrieve Client data from SAP Business Technology Platform Cockpit

Use the SAP Business Technology Platform cockpit to manage resources, services, security, monitor application metrics, and perform the desired actions with cloud applications.
