SAP S/4HANA offers different solutions for warehouse management:
SAP Extended Warehouse Management (SAP EWM) with SAP S/4HANA on premise or SAP S/4HANA Cloud, private edition
SAP EWM offers flexible, automated support for processing various goods movements and for managing stocks in a warehouse complex. The system supports planned and efficient processing of all logistics processes in a warehouse.
SAP Extended Warehouse Management (SAP EWM) can be used either as an embedded solution or deployed in a decentralized manner. For the embedded solution, a customer has the option to define a warehouse as a "basic warehouse", which offers only limited functionality, or as an "advanced warehouse", which then offers the full range of EWM functionality. A decentralized deployment is always a solution that offers the full EWM functionality.
Warehouse Management with SAP S/4HANA Cloud, public edition
The embedded warehouse management solution in SAP S/4HANA Cloud, public edition, is based on SAP Extended Warehouse Management, but with basic features and without a decentralized option.
