The Synchronize Employee Data figure shows how Job Information data is synchronized to employee information (user data).
Human Resource Information System (HRIS) Synchronization (or HRIS Sync) is the exchange of data between Employee Central and the SAP SuccessFactors HCM Platform, to allow consumption of Employee Central data by other SAP SuccessFactors modules. HRIS Sync is a background Scheduled Job that periodically looks for data that has been changed in Employee Central and updates the legacy user tables with data from Employee Central. The job itself is typically configured to run on a schedule in Provisioning.
However, Real-time synchronization happens when changes are made via Employee Self-Service, Manager Self-Service, or New Hire Process and:
- When an Employee Central record is changed and becomes effective at that time, data is synced automatically.
- When an Employee Central record is changed by using a future effective date, data is synced when that day becomes current.
The data will sync in real time once the change is saved (or approved if a workflow is involved).
