Understanding SAP SuccessFactors Continuous Performance Management

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to use SAP SuccessFactors Continuous Performance Management to support employee growth and development.

Continuous Performance Management

Continuous Performance Management (CPM) helps improve employee engagement and overall workforce performance by providing more continuous dialogue between managers and employees. With this continuous approach, managers have increased visibility into employee activities and achievements, enabling them to provide guidance when it’s relevant. Employees request feedback or receive feedback from anyone in their target population.

Activities

Activities represent the actions being taken toward achieving goals.

Achievements

When the employee completes an activity, they have the ability to mark it as an achievement.

Meeting View

The Meeting View supports the employee and the manager to have a meaningful one-on-one meeting.

Continuous Feedback

Continuous feedback helps you share your feedback directly with any employee through a channel that is integral to the solution.

Exercise: Use Performance and Goals tools

Business Example

In this activity, you will create a goal, an activity and then link the activity to the goal.

Note

This exercise is a standalone activity and is not required for completing other hands-on exercises for this course.

Steps

    Create Performance Goals

  1. Log in to the SAP SuccessFactors instance.

  2. Navigate to Goals using the global navigation menu, or using the Manage My Goals quick action on the Home Page.

  3. Select the TMO Goal Plan from the goal plan template dropdown menu.

  4. Select Create Goal.

  5. You can use Generative AI or Create a goal from Library to create your goal.

  6. If using the Generative AI, you can edit or regenarate the result as you see fit.

  7. If you're creating a goal from the library, expand the categories and sub-categories and select a goal of your choice. Select Next to navigate to the next step.

  8. Set the start and due dates of the goals this current year.

  9. Save your goal.

  10. Create an Activity

  11. Navigate to Continuous Performance using the global navigation menu.

  12. Select Create Activity.

  13. Add an activity name of your choice.

  14. Change the status to Complete. A checkbox to Mark as Achievement will show up.

  15. Select Mark as Achievement and leave today's date as the Achieved On date.

  16. In the Linked Goals section, select Link to the Performance Goals. You can link the activity to as many number of goals from as many number of goal plans you like.

  17. Select Save. Close the popup dialog that confirms the activity was created.

  18. On the Continuous Performance menu, select View Achievements and verify that the activity you created and marked as achievement displays.
