You can assign inspection characteristics to operation activities in a produce segment. To do so, you have the following options:
- Create inspection characteristics with or without a reference to existing master inspection characteristics
- Create a table of several inspection characteristics
- Copy master inspection characteristics and change the attributes as necessary
In the Details Workspace, for each operation, by selecting an operation, you can view all the inspection characteristics that have been assigned to the operation activities underneath the operation on the Inspection Characteristics tab in the Details Workspace. At operation level however, you can only view the information – you cannot delete existing or assign new inspection characteristics.
Note
To assign a new material or equipment, change, delete, or copy the existing one, use the Inspection Characteristics tab of the operation activity.
When creating inspection characteristics and their tables, you can reference specific components. During a component search, the system automatically filters to show only components assigned to the operation activity linked to the inspection characteristic. When a component is referenced in a table, its information is automatically applied to all inspection characteristics within that table. Additionally, you can reference these inspection characteristics and tables in interactive work instructions.

Summary
- Assign predefined or custom inspection characteristics to operation activities using the activity inspection tab.
- Reference components to automatically apply information across inspection characteristics tables.
