Exploring SAP SuccessFactors Territory and Quota Organization Data

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to explore SAP SuccessFactors Territory and Quota organization data.

Overview of SAP SuccessFactors Territory and Quota Organization Data

Before you can set up a territory program, SAP SuccessFactors Territory and Quota must be populated with several types of data. This includes organization data, unit types, security data such as business units, calendars, products, and accounts. In this unit, we will cover the management of business units and organization data.

If your organization uses SAP SuccessFactors Incentive Management with SAP SuccessFactors Territory and Quota, data that pertains to organizational objects such as positions, participants, and titles are shared between the applications. You do not need to duplicate this data in both applications.

If you use SAP SuccessFactors Incentive Management, it is recommended that you create participants, titles, and positions only in the SAP SuccessFactors Incentive Management application.

Because users and permissions are configured in the SAP SuccessFactors Incentive Mangement portal, SAP SuccessFactors Territory and Quota administrators who have restricted access to organizational objects in SAP SuccessFactors Incentive Management are also restricted from accessing those objects in SAP SuccessFactors Territory and Quota. These restrictions apply to the positions, participants, and title workspaces in SAP SuccessFactors Territory and Quota. The SAP SuccessFactors Territory and Quota application also complies with the create, read, update, and delete (CRUD) permissions configured in the SAP SuccessFactors Incentive Management portal.

SAP SuccessFactors Territory and Quota supports the use of business units as defined in the SAP SuccessFactors Incentive Management application. Business units are optional, but if you want to use them in territory programs, it is recommended that they are created before you create the following objects:

  • Participants
  • Positions
  • Titles
  • Accounts
  • Products

Further, it is recommended that you create participants and titles first because participants and titles need to be created before you create positions.

Note

Participants, positions, and titles must be configured before you create your territory programs.
