Discovering Product Lifecycle Management Business Roles

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to discover Business Roles for Product Lifecycle Management.

Product Lifecycle Management Business Roles

Now that you know the purpose of PLM, you're ready to discover the different ways its features (called "processes") can help manage products.

To illustrate these processes, we've created a series of videos depicting how employees at our forklift manufacturer work together.

After each process video, you can practice the same tasks these characters perform. First, watch the following video to meet five users who will appear most often: Development Manager, Production Engineer, BOM Engineer, Production Planner, and Product Configuration Modeler.

Neither the users represented in this video, nor the processes covered in this course, is comprehensive. Every organization is different. But the people and processes you're about to see should provide a sound understanding of PLM, which you can apply to your own organization.

These business roles and their users are only a few of those you will encounter in this training. Also, the names of employees may change.
