Viewing product classifications in category management involves organizing and categorizing products or services into specific groups or categories based on shared characteristics, functionalities, or market segments. This process helps businesses streamline procurement, inventory management, and strategic planning.
In the following simulation, you’ll assume the role of Alex Reed, the Lead Category Manager. Alex opens SAP Category Management and the Home dashboard is displayed.
Alex selects the Product Classifications card, which displays the product mapping. This mapping groups products with similar features and functionalities, illustrating their relationships. Typically, it includes a hierarchical structure that breaks down the product or products into smaller components. The taxonomy was configured by the category management administrator.
